In a couple more days we will see if these teams can pull off the trifecta of state championship football in Texas in one county. Shiner St Paul has already won the Tapps Division 4 state Championship. Shiner and Halletsville will be playing on Thursday to decide the state championship. Congrats to all the Lavaca county teams for playing great football.

Lets go today Commanches and Brahmans!
Should be two good games and if both bring their A games they will get it done.
And more amazing is that these two towns are less than 15 miles apart.

If you can’t watch the Shiner game but want to listen to it go to TexasThunder radio.

I don’t think those players ever got to play a team as physical as Shiner.

Happy for the Shiner Boys.

Well, Hallettsville let one slip away last night. Very disappointed in the HC & OC for not taking advantage of JN putting 8-9 guys in the box and at the first hint of a handoff another 1 or 2 came crashing into it. All they had to do was play action pass on 1st down or 2nd & 3rd and less than 5 and they could have absolutely burned JN big with a slant, post, or crossing route by a receiver or even better a hot pass to the TE. SMDH Them not doing that absolutely worn them down on the defensive side of the ball with 7 guys going both ways.
Heartbroken for those Halletsville kids

Brooks has a chance to be a special player at UT if the Horns can get their coaching crap fixed.

I actually turned the tv off because it looked like Halletsville was getting the better of Jim Ned and would run away with it. Wished I would have not done that sounds like Jim Ned but down on their mouthpieces and got it done.

Hallettsville could have really exploited that JN defense if the coaching staff had been able to see they had more on their offense then just Jonathan Brooks.

It’s a shame that Halletsville didn’t adjust after halftime. Jim Ned did adjust and it was shutdown Brooks, they stacked the line and forced the Brahmas into a pass offense. This happens too often when a team leans too much on a great player and has a weak plan B when they face a very good defense. Still a great season for the Brahmas!
