The mention of Coach Gordon Wood's name tends to generate jealousy. He had class and that is something we don't see much of on this blog site.

Yes, gp37 it is a brave voyage you're going on. Keep going West and dont feed the sharks. If all goes well you'll find a new world and learn about the shotgun formation. May your journey be blessed with guiding wind and smooth waters. Lmao. Awesome. Well said.

It is indicative of lack of character when a poster had rather trash another’s post than offer a intelligent debate with substance where others can learn from it.

It is clear of your ignorance of today's current Texas High School Football and your continuous hyping of ancient times. That relevance has passed. Try turning over a new rock. Not one that you keep standing on.

Youre way too damn preachy when it comes to Coach Gordon Wood and Brownwood. That's the issue. No one is jealous. Brownwood was not the first dynasty nor the last. I'm sure everyone on this board can appreciate what Coach Wood did for Brownwood and txhsfb but ultimately he is not end all be all like you make him out to be. My issue isn't with him or his accomplishments, it's you acting like he is the only coach who has instilled values in young men and has ever won a game.

GP3 “Wing-T is history” is a quote that I debated and then here comes a race for “Post Trasher of the month” . I watched a Presidential Debate last night where they reached back in history to prove their point. Yes, I am a history buff and could probably teach a pretty good history class. I am not a fan of the spread formation but I would not let my bios get in the way of doing what it takes to win. You fit your scheme to the personal you have to play with. The spread depends on talent for the spread and a very smart QB. You can run the spread from the Wing-T. Teaching kids to win in football and win in life is the name of the game.

But when you quote Coach Wood or use Brownwood as the gold standard so frequently it gets old.

AledoAlumni if you think Aledo should be the gold standard , that is ok with me. I think I used Several different coach’s and one was from Highland Park to make my point and I grew up hating Highland Park and Odessa High. I have high lighted Coach Bum Phillips in the past to make a point. “ Everything that goes up comes back down” I think a guy by the name of Newton said that . There is signs that both Cal and Aledo May be involved in a changing of the guard. Take the once power house Breckenridge for example. Oops that is bringing up history. The key to staying on top is the head coach. I have said this before, I would rather have one good coach than 5 blue chip players.

My post seem to illuminate the desire of some posters to silence anyone whom they disagree with. I know personally GP posters who will never post on this site again.

I and others have asked you questions about some of the things in your posts and you repeatedly neglect to answer most of them. But you are sure to deliver a negative , drive by comment with anything you perceive as a disrespect towards you or your comments and/or ramblings. Some of us are tiring of the same old rhetoric post after post after post.

So I'm certainly not going to use them as a golden standard.

I'm not saying this necessarily about Cal because we don't have the state hardware nor the consecutive state game appearances................... But Aledo? ? Seems like they are on track for another one....

Yeah, that makes my top 5 list And if you look at just the last 25 years that record goes to 91-13-1 with 9 titles and 1 runner-up. Yeah......that is top 5 all day long I think
