saw some guys playing both ways and not too many subs on the sideline. Whats the roster size about 30-35 kids? Yes that's about right. Southside lacks some depth but the boys get after it. Yes. Perhaps again that's why we pulled off the gas a little. Southside's starting RB Caleb Camarillo didn't play the 2nd half. I think covid situation has numbers down in general, and I wondered why I hadn't seen much of Camarillo in the 2nd half

With the lack of depth and Southside in control defensively probably not smart to leave him in there. His back up housed one but called back on a penalty.

With Southsides improvement since Coach Lock got there why are the participation numbers not improving? 33 on the Varsity Roster (according to Maxprep) just don't seem to be enough to me for a 5A school that's been winning games. Most of these kids can't make it through coaches locks camp. It's not easy and I think there are still some socio-economic issues at play. Lots of kids working jobs etc.. in a low income area that would normally be playing.

I think with a little more depth SS could really take a step fwd to being a team others had to go through every year.

If they can build some more depth they will continue to improve. But, like theside said, they probably lose a hell of a lot of talent with kids who have no choice but to help support their families by working after school. My hat is off to those kids and I feel for them.
