GP81 it is a secret. Cal is not going to share scouting report. My point exactly. She knows none of us were allowed to attend the scrimmage, yet asks us how the scrimmage went when she already knows how it went from her “scouts”, aka Phil Danaher!

GP81, it may be because GP did extremely well against a very good team.

One of the haters on here commented about me walking 3 miles in the snow and he must have lived all his life in South Texas. They usually have to sweep the snow off the seats at a stadium in the Wichita falls area each year. I remember games played in the strip in Texas between Wichita Falls and Amarillo and have to sweep the yard lines so the ref could see them during a blizzard. Electra and Vernon and Quanah or in that strip and there is nothing between that cold air coming from the north but a Bob Wire fence.
I remember hooking up on a pumping job over around Winthorst Texas in the wee hours of the morning and the misting rain would freeze on your back and when you moved your arms to hammer up a union the ice would break off your back. It was cold. I think the coldest I have ever been was on a barge job out in the Gulf on a Rig off shore Port Oconner and a Norther came in and about 32 degrees and in the fog and high humidity and damp and you could not get warm.
My kids will not forget when we made 2 state Championship games in Waco on the same day one time in the Winter.
I.m glad I watched the Championship Cowboy vs Green Bay packers on TV and they called it the Ice Bowl. If they had replay back then, the Cowboys would have won.
I moved to South Texas where the ground is not frozen in Winter and I found a home.

I honestly didn’t hear too much and Danaher didn’t go into a lot of specifics even tonight at our booster club meeting. He said it wasn’t something like 6 TDs for Steele for 2 for GP. He said GP didn’t look as big but has good spreed and impressive skill players. He talked about how well GP played Calallen last year and they looked to have good strength considering they were scrimmaging a 6A school.

GP81, it may be because GP did extremely well against a very good team. It was a scrimmage, not a game Oh, and I heard it was GP 7 Steele 7 in the timed portion And before anyone gets too terribly excited I can tell you that unless something has changed completely, Steele does not play their studs in scrimmages. They will not even suit out a few of their top players at all for a scrimmage and most of the other returning starters at their positions will only get a few reps at best. I have seen as many as 7 or 8 starters not allowed to even suit out for scrimmages in the past 10+ years. The last time Steele was a very good team was 2016 season.

I talked to Audrey in the GP Athletic office. Tickets on sale Thursday in athletic office or at the gate, single ticket or 3 tickets per person. Varsity practice is in the afternoon after school now and stadium is closed for visitors.

Most schools are not selling tickets at the gate.

I don’t think that is what she meant. I understand there are no reserved seats. I suspect you get a ticket at the gate and use it to set on whatever side you want to. She did not say GP was selling tickets, she just said you could get a ticket at the gate. She did say you could get a ticket on Thursday at the athletic office. I have a conflict because my great grandson is playing at Rouse and I want to watch it.

I even ask about getting a ticket to sit on the visitor side if they didn't bring many people. She told me NO tickets would be sold at the gate at all.

GP did the same thing in the Scrimmage that The other team did. I talked to the Sinton Coach before their scrimmage. And they were going to be plain Vanilla. I don’t want GP81 to think Cal is going to walk all over GP. I have reason to believe Cal is not as good as posters on here think they are and I have reason to think GP is not as bad as posters think the are. I think GP has the same DC as before and that is a problem. I am not aiming anything derogatory at Clem. We should wait until after the game on Friday.

It seems comparing anything to anything is a waste. I talked to a Sinton player about their Scrimage. Sinton has some talent but now they have a injury. How good is Orange Grove. How good is Beeville. How good is Rockport. How good is Miller. Coach Evans has less expierence than most of the opposing coaches. Coach Troutman is a beginner. My son I inherited by marriage coached Coach Troutman in junior high. We don’t know enough about any team to predict results. Matchups are different in any game. Usually you can’t go wrong by betting on Coach Danaher and his staff. There is lack of confidence in Coach Rhoades staff. The GP kids are going to put up a fight.
