Since Coach Whitaker got to Calhoun in 2005 they have never lined up in the shotgun or pistol. Not for even 1 play. And God Bless this man for that!!! The only thing I dislike more than the QB lined up in the shotgun on offense is an offensive line NOT lined up with a hand in the dirt!!!

DCTF: Stock Down Corpus Christi Miller: The Bucs struggled for a half last week against Sinton, but found another gear and blew the Pirates out. That gear wasn’t found this week as Miller was stunned 44-41 in a road loss to Rockport-Fulton. The Buccaneers have an offense that will score on just about anyone, but unless their defense improves this team will not live up to their potential. Miller is the Mike Leach era Texas Tech like team of this district. They will try to outscore you and will beat teams who try to match them for blow to blow. BUT play a team who can play defense and make at least one stop per quarter for which they turn into points, they will lose. Tech could never beat UT or OUsucks but only a handful of times during that era because the Horns and Land Thieves could match them blow for blow and then make them cash in for mistakes or stops. Mike Leach wasn't getting top 5 recruiting classes every year like UT or OUsucks. Give Leach those UT or OUsucks rosters and he's winning multiple national championships.

But his MO which followed him to Washington St was to load up with three star and a few four stars and then some JUCOS and roll with it. It will be interesting to see how he implements the same at Miss St in the best football conference ever created. BTW I’m a Mike Leach fan so I wasn’t slamming him.

He had the same shot at the top recruits as everyone else. If he didn't offer them then its on him.

So to say he had the same shot is not really fair. Tech has been legit 1 time in their history... the Leach era.

I know a lot of Tech alums and they are convinced they will forever be cursed thanks to the way Leach was ousted. Yea they almost lost to Houston Baptist to open the season who has only had a football program for short time and has been a bottom feeder in the Southland for that long. The Horns will drop 50 plus on them on Saturday.

Why is everyone acting like rf wasnt a good team. They lost by 1pt to state finalist wimberley last year in the playoffs. This shouldnt have been a surprise that they were even close to miller. Ik miller has the talent but rf was clearly a good team regardless

The Horns will drop 50 plus on them on Saturday. If they don't, it very well could be another single digit win season. Herman needs to get it done. He has plenty of talent and the majority of these kids are now the ones he recruited. It is time for him to get it done and get that talent to play to their potential. He has the senior QB to lead them as well and I think most UT fans should fully expect a top 10 finish this year. The Longhorns have not finished in the top 10 in 11 years now (2009).
