Relavant: PLC has the same coach, the same offense and the same problem that GPKing pointed out; PLC does not throw the ball. How many teams won at Jerry's World that did nt throw the ball?

Wf coyote - don't worry yourself over what calhoun does with their offense,..they like the offensive scheme they run, and will run it to where ever it may lead...you just worry about yours...smdh

Bitter man, what happened to Bitter old man? Me and Rodney Dangerfield just can't get any respect. Watched PLC and Calallen play simultaneous on 2 computers live stream and tried to pull up a Miller game on 3rd Computer but had to register and gave it up. Rambling ol man went all the way to Katy yesterday to watch his 6 year old great grandson play soccer in club ball. Made it back home in time to watch the UT game. Got my schedule for Hamilton Junior High to go see a great grandson play in Hamilton and waiting for Rouse Raiders to start and will make games between GP games to see another Great grandson play at Cedar Park. Busy living life to the fullest and made Sunday school and church this morning. Something to think about. GP has lost fewer games than PLC and Calallen so far this year. Was at least trying to show some respect by respecting my elder. But I was also taught to tell the truth. Your grandsons game , UT football game, how many computers you have on watching games, None of that had anything to do with Calhouns game, Unless you were paying attention to 1 game at a time I can Guarantee you missed something.

I was at that game in 1960 and boy was it cold. Lawrence Elkins was to much for Calhoun. A cold front came through the night before when Johnny Roland and the Miller Bucs whuped my Coyotes. The rain did not bother Johnny Roland. Added note: My grand daughter graduated from PLC and I keep her informed on PLC. That game was 4 years before I was born. Just give your granddaughter the scores. She knows more about Calhoun than You Guaranteed.

El Campo: Charles Shorter 3-91; Rueben Owens 13-117; Johntre Davis 13-121; Cullen Braden 3-35. Wow What a workhorse!!

If only Witaker could pass successfully a bit more that "O" would be devastating. Just 10 passes or so I agree king. If he incorporates 7-10 timely passing plays a game into this offense and completes 60% or so of them it would help to pull the defense out of the box a little. It doesn't have to be anything fancy, just a few good pass plays to loosen up the defense a little and give that triple option even more room to work! Kinda like Navy did last year.

Someone once said Calhoun would never win the Region running that Offense. Then they did. so to say never is foolish at best.

There are plenty of Calhoun fans that would like to see them throw a good bit more. But at the start of this season Whit was 121-57 at Calhoun. Kinda makes it hard to argue with what he's doing. I think a coach that has won 68% of his games over the last 14 years. I'm sure a of of schools/ fans/ towns would like to be able to say that.

I think a coach that has won 68% of his games over the last 14 years. I'm sure a of of schools/ fans/ towns would like to be able to say that. Absolutely You can't argue with that at all. He has done a great job at PLC including 5 or 6 double digit win seasons in that time. But, PLC still only has the 1 regional title in those years. Don't get me wrong, there are a TON of teams out there that would love to have that! But, the four years that PLC competed in R3 within a very tough district the Sandcrabs were just 19-23 those seasons combined. Those teams in that district were likely overall bigger and faster up front on defense than most teams we have here in R4 at the same level. Would a decent passing game have help out there in some of those close games that PLC lost? There were not a lot of those losses that were more than 2 TD losses. And to be completely honest with you, I'd take a great power run game/ball control offense any day over an air-raid attack!! We all know when you put the ball in the air only 3 things can happen...….& two of those three are bad! But even the great power run teams that have won titles such as Katy can and do use the pass to help open up that run game when you do come up against another great team who has a great front 7. We had the best RB in Texas in 2010 and top 2 in the country along with several other Stud RBs that ended up playing at power 5 conferences and the only reason we were able to win a title was because we also had a very good passing game to help open up the run game when teams tried to stack the box on us. Do I think PLC will win the region again without being able to throw the ball with some consistency, no doubt about it because I don't know of a team that runs it better than PLC. However, for the Sandcrabs to win it all even in 4a D1 I do think a passing game will have to emerge to get it done. Hell, even 4-5 very timely thrown balls down the field can be enough to do it!

I agree Whit needs to pass a little more and they did try to throw a few times this season and they throw in practice but the El Campo game they did not need to throw when you score on every possession running.

I say give it time. I don’t think you pass unless you have to this early in the season. Seems as if as the season goes, Calhoun tends to pass more. I mean 2-3 times a game is more!!

Agree completely. When the FB gets 3+ yards on almost every carry through the middle of the defense. That limits the need to air it out. If someone has not figured this out already Calhoun is NOT A PASS FIRST team. wfcoyote, Pay attention.

I agree If you do not get stopped then there absolutely is no need to put the ball in the air. And no doubt he probably wants to keep working on that run game as well to sharpen it up more. Hell, if not for the TOs against LV I think PLC could have won that ball game. That said, as long as they are working on it in practice that is great. Just get good enough at it so that you can burn the hell out of team that decides to cheat their safeties right up into the hip pockets of the LBrs!
