With Calallens win over Tivy and Calhoun being open I'm thinking Calallen will pass Calhoun in the DCTF Ranking this week. Anybody else agree.

Tivy has yet to score, I think they are defiantly in a down year. Dripping springs is not an elite program, who also shut out Tivy. I don’t think Tivy was the test Calallen was looking for.
That said, rankings are meaningless. But you know that.

That said, rankings are meaningless. But you know that. I don't take them literally. They would only be meaningful if the teams played the same opponents as everyone else. then it would be a apples to apples comparison. I just like trying to figure how they move teams around the way they do. It seems to me to be consistently inconsistent.

Now they didn't for 6A and 5A before they started playing But I have seen movement Up and Down for (SMALL SCHOOL) teams on the Bye. I trust the Computer rankings more But sometimes something ill happen there that I don't get.

I read on some posts people asking why Calallen was ranked as high as they are with two losses their thinking was that DCTF was biased toward them. I don’t know nothing about some of the teams ranked under Calhoun and Calallen and if some teams ranked under them should be ranked above them but do know they both have played some tough teams. I myself don’t care about them rankings because it’s district time and this is what counts.

The Rankings remained unchanged this week. I was wrong. I am a little surprised by this.

I agree, unless someone loses it probably stays the stay. Early on in the seasons there is some positioning move typically do to 'style points'. If a team blows someone out that is supposed to be a solid team, then they usually get a bump up. The later the season goes then it takes losses for teams to drop unless they simply are very underwhelming in their wins over bad competition. IMO, this is probably R4 strongest division overall with the largest number of very good teams.

The Initial Preseason poll is based off what teams did the year before and who they lost through Graduation, Gained by transfers, Coaching changes ect. Therefore a lot of movement is expected early on. Now it should settle some since most are starting District play.
