So now that we know the timeline for the UIL in the bigger classifications a few questions.
Will players that will play at the next level be leaving in the middle of the high school playoff run? Guess now the college has the next move. Right now would that mean a team like Shadow Creek won't have the same QB for the playoff run. Or at least not all of it.

Since most colleges don’t start classes in the spring until the third week of January or post MLK day, this shouldn’t be a problem. The NCAA might have to make a rule to clarify the situation. Plus you have to wonder how much the COVID mess has thrown off recruiting and schools are having to reevaluate their recruiting budgets and priorities

It is not about college it's about high school. After Christmas break that's a new 6 weeks and a new semester in high school. They can't do half a year and not start up the next semester I would imagine that is a UIL violation. That would be a player playing that is not a student correct. I am just asking because obviously this is new to us all.

It is usually only Baseball needing that clause.

That teams football IQ should be boosted.

Technically this has occurred with the state title games being played after the winter semester has concluded at many schools in December and you might have a semi played and then the state title game. It occurs in May when baseball and softball run over the end of school dates in late May. Like Varmint noted, the UIL will be flexible with this (if it becomes an issue) as they will have to be going forward even with the plans they set forth yesterday. I think they realize we need to address the safety issues, but also try to accommodate the kids at the same time in an effort to not have a repeat of how spring sports ended.

I haven’t seen any info on this or if this ever happens... kids blowing off the last six weeks of the 1st semester because the State Championship always occurs before it is reported. So with another six weeks being completed and most likely reported before the Semis & SC games are played, do you think this will impact any playoff teams?
