So what are the real numbers? I remember last year we had the conversation and I don't remember how but we came up with I think it was a 11,000 capacity for Buc Stadium. But here's from a Caller article from 2 years ago. What are they talking about? What was the renovation that took Buc from 12k to 18k? They are mistaken. It does not hold even 12k much less 18k. I'm just trying to get the real number for something I am doing. I think the real number we came up with was 11k wasn't it?
from the Caller article...
While the formal dedication ceremony of the $200,000 stadium happened Sept. 19, 1941, the official first game was nearly a year earlier on Sept. 27, 1940. The Bucs met Waco High School in the partially completed stadium, which was limited to about 9,000 fans since only a portion of the grandstands were complete. For the 1941 game against Laredo (in which the Bucs thrashed the Tigers 66-0, go Bucs!) about 10,000 fans packed into the 12,000-seat stadium. Later improvements brought the capacity up to 18,000.

And if it's not the 18k then they were also inaccurate about the Calallen vs Lamarque game getting 22k(or whatever the number was) in attendence? If it really did hold 18k then the 22k after bleachers added makes sense but it only holds 11k. I don't understand where CCISD got the 18k number from.

I remember going to the Ray - Miller Games in the late 1950’s and early 1960’s. The Stadium was packed. At that time the Stadium had End Zones Seats similar to Alice Coyote Stadium. For the Ray - Miller Game they would also bring in Seating on the Track!

Yeah that's the article I read that confused me. Searching for Buc history the original plan image I saw on a Caller article shows a horseshoe with seats all around on three sides. Maybe that's where the 18K came from. Doing searches I have seen articles saying 18K and others 11K but nothing solid like you're hoping for.

For the Ray - Miller Game they would also bring in Seating on the Track! So they use to have endzone seating? Then that's probably the part of the article that references how Buc was originally 12k then changed to seat 18k. So that's probably where that other 6k seats went away -when they took away the endzone seating. But from what I see it's 11k not the original 12k mentioned. But still that endzone seating comment explains the 12k-18k difference comment.

Ray Won State in 1959 and Miller Won State in 1960.
