Rumor is this is definitely happening and has been going on behind closed doors for at least 6 months. Rumors also are that it's not gonna wait till contracts are up in 2025 to happen but it's gonna happen as soon as 2022. We'll see I guess. You know how rumors go. Oh yeah for sure. Bottom line is any and every conference would welcome Texas in. The money talks and Texas would give that and good exposure. The problem I see is that their network makes millions and they could stay right where they are at or move. The SEC is an obvious choice except for one problem. The SEC also has their own network that generates a lot of money. There's no way in my mind that either will give in to anything. The SEC is not going to let Texas move in unless they give up that network, and Texas makes too much money with that network, SEC or not. They could brainstorm something unforseen, but for now it is beyond my comprehension. They're way smarter than I am anyway so I guess we will see what happens. The channel deal was done under a previous AD and administration. The current administration really doesn’t want anymore thanks to logistics. It was created when streaming and the such was still in the infant stage and much of what is done can be moved to streaming. The deal to move to the SEC will give the LHN space to the SEC for which they might do a channel focused on what is now the SEC West and the other would focus of the SEC East. Kind of like what the PAC 12 has with four channels focusing on The Arizona, California, Pacific Northwest and Mountain schools.

Will Texas divy it up with the SEC? My guess is no and the SEC won't allow Texas to pocket it. Its good in theory but I just don't see it happening.

I think he's saying the LHN will no longer exist if the move happens. It'll maybe morph into something like the SEC Network which already exists.

Yeah but still Texas will be giving up a lot of money is what I'm getting at. I don't think they would be willing and the SEC is not going to allow them to. I can't see it working but time will tell I guess.

I can't see it working but time will tell I guess. Texas got much of the money in the front end…. From the chatter I’ve read whatever agreement Texas, SEC, and ESPN come up to dissolve the current LHN with will more than enough make up for any loss from the contract for terminating three years early. They might not make it all up in three years, but eventually it will be made up and then som. The contracts the SEC has with Espn and CBS end in 2025, but both nets have a strong interest getting in front of the train vs behind thanks the conference dynamics that will be changing once Texas and OU are given the official welcome from the SEC. The current AD at Texas is very much a long term looking guy vs what they had when things like the LHN was created. That AD (Deloss Dodds) would not have Texas at the table right now within a hair of making a deal. Much to UTs detriment too.

Texas is gonna have to learn to defense and quit hiring these air raid coaches. Life is tougher in the SEC and their style of play won't last the whole season. Its great for the WAC and even the big 12. I'm sure they will fix that but not with the new guy. Anyway big welcome. I hope they can negotiate to let tu and A&M play on Thanksgiving. That would be a big money generator and I'm assuming they will be playing each other every year anyway.

Gunna be fun watching the longhors try and compete. OU can step in and have success right of the bat but longhors are still trying to build. SEC will definitely break a team down thru the season.

You Aggy fans act like you've been kicking ass in the SEC since you joined and you only finished second in the SEC west twice. The rest of the time forth and fifth with medicore records. Get the heck over yourself thinking you are this ass kicking machine that is going Texas and OU to the shed next season. You shouldn't even be in the same conversation with the SEC top tier. The evidence... 2020 9-1 8-1 2nd (West) Orange Bowl 4th Jimbo Fisher Results Roster 2019 8-5 4-4 4th (West) Texas Bowl Jimbo Fisher Results Roster 2018 9-4 5-3 2nd (West) Gator Bowl 16th Jimbo Fisher Results Roster 2017 7-6 4-4 T-4th (West) Belk Bowl Kevin Sumlin Results Roster 2016 8-5 4-4 4th (West) Texas Bowl Kevin Sumlin Results Roster 2015 8-5 4-4 5th (West) Music City Bowl Kevin Sumlin Results Roster 2014 8-5 3-5 6th (West) Liberty Bowl Kevin Sumlin Results Roster 2013 9-4 4-4 4th (West) Chick-fil-A Bowl 18th Kevin Sumlin Results Roster 2012 11-2 6-2 t2nd (West) Cotton Bowl 5th Kevin Sumlin Results Roster

TU fans simply think they're better than they actually are. Some of the most critical of UT are fans of UT. If you look at my Facebook for example, I'm pretty tough on them during the season. And I think most UT fans who keep connected to things in Austin and the College football world are as well. Any Longhorn fan saying we will walk in the SEC and own it is a fool for lack of a better way to put it. Personally I want to see how this year shakes out with Sark and then see what his new recruiting class looks next winter before a I stake out in speculation. I do know we won't be whopping boy, but under no illusions we should be considered a contender in 2022 which despite media reports is when this will happen. All the stuff about 2025 being the start is all legal jargon which lawyers will iron out to accelerate the start dates and the transition of network rights to the SEC for the LHN and whatever cash UT and OU will pay the Big 12.

Mike Leach went in there and in week 1 vs the defending national champs he immediately broke the single game SEC passing record... with is air raid. Texas and Oklahoma aren't gonna have to adjust to the SEC. The SEC is gonna have to adjust to Texas and Oklahoma.

Texas and Oklahoma aren't changing anything, hell Texas hasn't been relevant in quite some time.

Besides Notre Dame, Texas gets the most preferential treatment even though neither has been relevant for years.
