Did I miss the medical report that covid does not affect baseball or basketball players? There is summer baseball going around all over and haven't heard anything about covid affecting them.

That's what I was saying on my post. Teams with top talent specially with kids that have already accepted scholarships might have to rethink the rosters if this is the way they go. Some top kids could leave in December and we never see them play in high school football again. Just for example the QB from Lake Travis and the QB from Shadow Creek. Those programs would be playing the next man up probably because they might not suit up again . It will be interesting to see which kids leave. Who puts themselves over their program. It's possible the colleges might have something to say about this regardless if we have a season this fall or spring for that matter. Schollie budgets are going to take a hard kick in the groin, even at schools who have cash flow. Some are going to have redirect dollars to other programs who took a hit this spring in order to remain compliant to Title IX on top of honoring a fifth year for all your spring sports starting with basketball. Recall some schools and conferences who rely on basketball TV and tourney contract revenue lost out on a significant chunk of their revenue stream when the conference tourneys and the Road to the Final Four was cancelled. And we are not even talking about what reduced enrollment at many schools this fall is going to do as many programs rely on student fees for funding scholarships for athletics. And the cash cow which are the football programs at many provide money for other needs including day to day operations.

UIL issued a statement today saying there is no consideration for moving spring sports to the fall and fall to spring. They are not even discussing this as an option.

The elephant in the room is TEA. TEA has put it on each ISD on how they will open up for the 2020-2021 School Year. This puts the liability on each ISD if they open up and the COVID-19 spreads through the schools. There is a distinct possibility that several ISD's will not open up to in-classroom student teaching in August, thus no extra curricular activities (i.e. Football, Volleyball, etc.). There might even be entire Districts that do not open up in August.

Most likely that decision will ultimately come at the end of July/August 1st or if there is an executive order by the Governor.

I have alot of customers that are schools in the area, Flour Bluff, TM, Kingsville, Calallen, Odem, Taft, Alice, Riviera, SGA and London and since April been at reduce hours so i'm hoping things get back to normal as possible. Looks like it's going to be long 2020 of majority of these schools not running at over 50 percent. Other customer is refineries and they also have cut back.

With the option of being able to do home schooling a lot of parents will choose that for their kid imo. Brother in law kid they're opting for home schooling and he won't be able to play football this year if he doesn't attend school is what my BIL told me.

To me it looks like the most probable way to have TXHSFB, CFB and NFL is all televised. No fans in the stands. There is still the risk of players being asymptomatic and passing COVID-19 to the coaching staff. Especially in TXHSFB.
