DCTF released their top 25 recently. I've actually had a top 20 for a while, but never posted it on this specific board. Interesting that they are higher on some teams than I am, just as I am high on some teams that they aren't. Here's my top 20:
1. Longview 2. Denton Ryan 3. Lancaster 4. Lone Star 5. Highland Park 6. Cedar Park 7. Frisco Independence 8. Colleyville Heritage 9. Richmond Foster 10. Mansfield Summit 11. Red Oak 12. Manvel 13. Lufkin 14. Abilene Cooper 15. College Station 16. Amarillo 17. Tascosa 18. New Caney 19. FB Hightower 20. Azle
Others that can't be slept on: Midlothian, Birdville, Sherman, McKinney North and Hendrickson

Manvel was young and should be better. Foster lost the starting QB and last time that happened they had to get the RB to play QB. So to think they will just replace him is not realistic. Great thing is that is our district and it will play out. Also not sure on Hightower. They beat us Angleton by 3 points great win for them. But we played most of the game with the 3rd string QB and almost pulled it off. Had the #2 guy stayed in the game I think he would of been the difference. I am sure he is ready for his chance to play them again this year.

Hightower caught them at the right time last year.

Looks kinda like a North Texas Poll That doesn’t answer my question... Can someone post the DCTF version? Hi wp4l I like most of your list all-be-it in not necessarily in the same order. One glaring team in my opinion that I do not think should be where they are is Lancaster. I don’t think they deserve to be in the top 10 let alone top 5. They’ll be good but they unfortunately are in a tough Region and will not get deep in the playoffs and therefore should not be considered that high!

Manvel will be very talented and I wouldn't be shocked if they played in the big game in December, but for pre-season purposes they did lose alot. Only 6/2 returning. Foster returning 5/3 which isn't a whole lot better but that's from a team that had Shadow Creek beat before SC exploded for 23 points in that 3rd quarter. Foster will also reload, specifically at the QB position. 2023 QB JT Fayard (6'3 175) transferred in from Seven Lakes and will be one of the top Texas QBs for the 2023 cycle 247sports.com/Player/JT-Fayard-46086051/

That will help them out but still not sold on them. They have played SC very well and had them down both years I believe they have played. They just haven't been able to get the win. As far as Manvel man I don't think any other program in the state could do what they have done. Play and lose in the state final vs Highland Park. Then the new school that took more than what they lost to graduation would of done. That new school and team has only lost once in two years that was in the state final game. Man I don't care what classification you look at .I don't think any other program could do that in the state.

Yeah, I've been getting a lot of backlash for that Lancaster pick. lol I understand, I know they have a rep for not "finishing" vs other good teams, sort of the "Westfield of 5A" but the Tigers are really loaded. We have to remember too that they are capable of handling business at times. They have played for a title under Gilbert before in 2012....and I truly believe that this will be the best Lancaster team he has had yet. JR QB Glenn Rice Jr would have been district MVP last year if he wasn't in the same district with HP's Chandler Morris, whom he nearly beat. Rice put up 3,100 total yards and 34 TDs last year as a sophomore. He'll have targets everywhere. TE/WR Desmond Frazier (6'1 225) and WR Majik Rector (5'9 170) were all district players in 2019. Rector is a Kansas commit. There's also 4 star 2022 WR Phaizon Wilson (6'4 200) who already has 15 offers. 2022 WR Stephon Johnson (6'1 180) also transferred in from Houston Heights, already has 3 offers. Running game should be effective with D1 back DQ James (5'7 180) and don't forget, D1 2022 RB 247sports.com/Player/Isaiah-Broadway-46056651/ also just transferred in from Hebron. OL should be one of the best in the class led by SR T Joseph Amos (6'5 325) and SR G Isaiah Silleman (6'2 270) both who are receiving major next level attention. The defense will be pretty talented as well. Are they in a loaded region? Without question, very loaded. Anyone 1-5 has a shot, even Independence.

Fair enough... top 10, but not top 5 until they can prove they have the discipline to finish! Talent is one thing but to go the distance you need both!

Talent is one thing but to go the distance you need both!I do trust them to perform way more than I do say, Lufkin....which is another reason why I dont have them ranked so close to Lufkin. Lufkin, talent wise could maybe be top 10 but that trust factor pushed them into the 10s.
