From Twitter 06/04 Carl Padilla @padillapoll What about a Game between 2 Teams that would set a State record for most State Championships playing against each other in a game! Itโs one thing The Godfather of #txhsfb is working on! @professordiggs pigskinprep @glere53

Aledo was scheduled to play Mexico week 3 but I'm guessing that is not going to happen. Not sure if we are included in the tweet but I came up with some possibilities on who we could play. Aledo vs Ennis last season totaled 13 state titles. I dont know what the record is but I'd be surprised if its much higher than that.
Possible games
Aledo (9) vs Katy 6A/ SLC 6A (8)
Aledo (9) vs Plano 6A/ Brownwood 4AD1/ Carthage 4AD2 (7)
Aledo (9) vs Odessa Permian 6A/ Highland Park 5AD1/ Lake Travis 6A/ Wichita Falls 5AD2/ Judson 6A/ Waco 6A (6)
Aledo (9) vs Allen 6A/ Ennis 5AD2/ Stephenville 4AD1 (5)
A little more realistic
Aledo (9) vs SLC 6A (8)
Aledo (9) vs Brownwood 4AD1 (7)
Aledo (9) vs Odessa Permian 6A/ Highland Park 5AD1/ Wichita Falls 5AD2 (6)
Aledo (9) vs Stephenville 4AD1 (5)

Out of all of these historical possibilities for 2020 I think only SCL and HP would make it a truly exciting game with Aledo. If you threw Allen, Katy and Judson in there it might make it interesting. I think it will be very possible to get an Aledo/Ennis rematch in the playoffs. The other programs which have a storied past, I don't think would make it much of a game. Rider rules the roost in WF right now, both Brownwood and Stephenville are really good in 4A but would lack numbers against really good 5A competition and neither are certainly not what they were in the old 4A and Permian while still a steady 6A program is not what they were in their hey day. The last really good Permian team that had a chance to win state was in 2008. They beat us in the area round that year and lost the next week to Allen on a controversial spot on 4th and 12 with Permian driving. Allen was able to run out the clock in the last high school football game ever played at Texas Stadium. Probably one of the best I've seen there through the years minus the blown call at the end. (BTW- The Permian receiver caught it and got the ball beyond the 1st down marker but they got robbed on the spot.) Had they not Permian had all of the momentum and Allen was on their heels about to be knocked out.

Although I would be excited for both SLC and Permian, I think the betting lines would be different. SLC -21 and Permian +14 sounds about right.
