WF Rider scrimmaged Rock Hill last night. Rock hill isnt inept for a brand new team. I don't think they will be a typical brand new team that goes winless but they dont seem to have any difference makers. Not alot of size or speed. The Prosper ISD stadium is really nice however. Does Rock Hill have Seniors yet?

Does Rock Hill have Seniors yet? I believe they do ...the reported 1800 kids at opening across all 4 grades, but i would assume not evenly distributed. Separately the coach reported 150 football players across all 4 grades but said more than 1/3 were freshman. I would assume if you were 2/3 depth chart at Prosper and wanted to play you would move to have the opportunity. But a guess at the distribution based on history of FISD splits Total 150 Freshman 60 Soph 40/50 Jr 35/40 Sr 15/20

I read somewhere that 32 Varsity players moved from Prosper to Rock Hill, however, I don't think it was an accredited news source - it was just something I read online. Also doesn't mean all 32 were incoming Seniors. A Prosper local said most of the talented, true starters, stayed a Prosper, but a lot of 2's and 3's switched to Rockhill. The lower level split was based on zoning.

Lovejoy vs. John Paul II
Friday, 7 p.m. at Leopard Stadium
The first game of the Chris Ross era at Lovejoy begins with a first-time opponent, as the Leopards test themselves against one of the top private school programs in the state. John Paul surprised many last season after authoring a run to the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools state championship game, despite never having won a playoff game in its history, but the Cardinals won’t be sneaking up on anyone this season with a team loaded with college-caliber talent.
The Leopards aren’t lacking in quality players either, led behind center by last season’s 7-5A Division II Offensive MVP Ralph Rucker and top receiver Reid Westervelt.
Those two are at the forefront of a dynamic Lovejoy offense that gets a big test against the Cardinals, who sport one of the most talented secondaries on the state — led by blue-chip prospects Braxton Myers and Terrance Brooks.

Frisco vs. Frisco Independence
Thursday, 7 p.m. at Toyota Stadium
A pair of Frisco ISD schools that are coming off their best seasons in recent memory will clash Thursday night in a non-district clash at Toyota Stadium.
Independence advanced to the third round of the Class 5A Division I playoffs a year ago for the first time in program history and with 15 starters returning, including senior dual-threat quarterback Braylon Braxton (4097 all-purpose yards, 56 total touchdowns as a junior), the Knights are ready to build off their historic 9-4 season.
Frisco, meanwhile, has turned around its fortunes in recent years after finishing the 2017 season with a record of 0-10. The Raccoons went 11-2 in 2019 under the direction of first-year head coach Jeff Harbert and finished as the District 7-5A Div. II champion. Senior and Arkansas commit Chase Lowery did it all a year ago for Frisco. He finished with 758 receiving yards and seven touchdowns. As a shutdown cornerback, he recorded 44 tackles and three interceptions.
The two teams have split the four all-time meetings, with Independence winning each of the last two games, including a 24-14 triumph in 2017.

Leopard4Life. Thanks for sharing the write ups, where did you find those?
Folks can’t say our teams are taking soft non district games, good luck.
We get to take Indy outside and on grass..other than that this will be a tough game and swing on mistakes.
We have Reedy next week, who you got next?

I got the write ups here: starlocalmedia.com/allenamerican/sports/game-of-the-week-vote-for-the-top-high-school-football-game-on-the-star/article_e63865e8-fc4f-11ea-b512-ebc822dee914.htmlI only saw our game and yours mentioned as potential games of the week out of our district so I thought I'd post them here. Probably should have posted the link so they get cred. SLM also have 3-4 podcasts and YouTube videos that cover the lead up to the season. I think Frisco is mentioned in several. Indy lost their freshman slot receiver and OC to Lovejoy (Father/Son), but they will still be good. I don't know who their new OC is. I don't think Reedy will be to tough for y'all. They had that really good year where a bunch of Freshman moved there and they had 4 years of dedicated varsity coaching, but last year all they had was the do-all LB/Punter/Place-Kicker/Wildcat-QB and an up and coming RB. They still have the RB, but I don't remember their Freshmen or JV having any world-beaters. We will know more this week, but if I picked today I'd take Frisco by double digits over Reedy. Lovejoy has Sulphur Springs next week. Don't know why the AD scheduled this game. He must have a hunting buddy out that way because I don't see where that game benefits Lovejoy, at all... I think Reedy and SS would be a good game. I know Lovejoy will have depth issues on the lines, but I'm still looking forward to our matchup with the Racoons.

For the record, I voted for Frisco vs. Independence. More evenly matched game, and I want to watch it for free.

The broadcaster is leaving and they are saying there will be a fee, but they haven't announced what that is, yet.

They work with schools/Booster Clubs all over the state!

I'm pretty sure Prosper is, or was, with Sportsgram also. They were with Prosper when Ross coached there.
