Week 9 Results Calallen 1 Alice 0 T-M 21 Beeville 19 Calhoun 77 Miller 76 Standings 1 Calhoun 3-0 7-1 2 Calallen 3-0 6-2 3 Miller 1-2 4-4 4 T-M 1-2 4-4 5 Alice 1-2 1-2 6 Beeville 0-3 2-6 Week 10 Games Calhoun @ Alice Beeville @ Calallen Miller @ T-M With 3 wins in District play Calallen and Calhoun should be locked into the playoffs. Final two playoff spots up for grabs. What happened to Beeville? How did they fall off the wagon? I thought they were being touted to grab the last playoff spot.

I fully expected them to be in the mix and challenge the favorites. They seem to have been flat for almost the entire season. Maybe they are a really young team? I know as long as Soza is the coach I expect them to be competitive.

TM is sitting pretty right now. Assuming Alice plays against PLC, they will get a Coyote team who might be down and bruised up. TM plays Miller who will be favored without any doubt, but I don’t think Miller’s style will physically beat them down to where they will still feel it the following week like Alice will when they play TM to wrap this season up.

I thought that also but this season hasn’t been the season that everyone expected over in Trojan Country, they’ve lost a bunch of talent from that 2019 team. They’ve had a few tough breaks that could’ve been in there favor and that’s what happened to Coach Soza this season (Boerne, Canyon Lake, Moody, PLC, Alice & last night’s game T-M).

Sinton has only 10 seniors and start 6 sophomores on defense so they got baptize in playing 4 qtrs early part of the season. Beeville qb and Spizer sp? two good threats but need help overall to turn them lose.

Turns out Beeville is taking their lumps with a young team this season. They have not really been blown out in any game this year. Seems like it just gets away from them somehow. They are making some mistakes typical of a young team. The growing pains they are going through should help them be better next year.

They competed with Moody, Calhoun in the 1st half & Alice. But they been snake bit in close games & that happened last week vs Tuloso

Calallen's Ty Buchanan signed LOI with the USC Trojans yesterday. Interesting I hope he has some kind of family ties or something else that he went that directly. Typically kids that have those kinds of ties do well but if they don't it makes it a lot tougher some times.

He got a number of D1 offers, but yes it's kind of different to see a kid from Texas and much less South Texas go to a West Coast school, especially a big boy school.

We had a kid from Clemens go to USC just a few years ago. He did well and got his education but didn't get to play all that much. A lot of times though you hear of kids going to a school so far away and not having any real ties to that school or maybe more importantly, family nearby and they end up getting homesick bad. I knew this kid had multiple offers so that is kinda why I asked. Hope he tears it up there even though I really don't like the west coast schools and one of the happiest days of my life was watching UT beat USC for the title. lol

Mine too especially with the current state of the UT program. I actually got to see UT do it again up in Austin in 2018. The only tickets I could get my hands on is where most of the USC faithful were sitting. Talk about high society types who scatter once the scoreboard shows an "L" is likely. LOL!
