Will the UIL shutdown HS baseball over the Coronavirus (Common Cold). They shutdown the Basket Ball playoff so the virus is just like the common cold?

Coved 19 is treated the same. You are over it in 7 days if you are under 60 and no lung problems same as flu and if you take antibiotics for the fever for 7 days you get over it and probably done the same with aspirin. Kids under 10 don’t seem to have a problem with Covid 19. Each time it passes and mutates in the next person lt gets weaker and eventually runs out of gas like the swine flu. Sports is acting to prevent law suits.

My Grandson played with Braeden on the San Antonio Sliders the last two years.. Braeden is a good young man and a very good Pitcher and athlete. I have a feeling there are going to be some good battles between Rockport and Sinton in the future.. My Grandson also played with the Sandcrabs for several years. Several of Sinton’s Freshmen who are on Varsity played on the Sandcrab Team. They are very good baseball players. Much of the Credit needs to go to Kevin Mitchell from Sinton and Mark Lopez from Portland. The Sandcrabs also had a pitcher who is starting at Calallen and two Freshmen Standouts at Banquete. One of the Banquete players is from Portland and one from Calallen. The Sandcrabs were always Ranked in the top 5 in the Nation. All of the Sandcrabs players were very good players and there is no doubt Select Ball took them to another level. Michael Chester should also get Credit along with Bubba Petrus for taking Sinton baseball to the level they are playing. I think there are already 3 players who have Division 1 Scholarships. This is the Reason I posted several months ago, I think Sinton has a very good chance to win multiple State Championships the next four years. I am afraid the Coronavirus might take one of these Championships Years Away.

Before this is over we very well may see an epidemic that kills 10s of millions worldwide. I do agree with you that it is being blown up big time by the media right now and hopefully with the best research scientist in the world we can somehow slow it down. I also understand that it typically is only fatal to the elderly, weaker immune systems and to folks with breathing issues already. I also understand that the common flue kills over 50k people a year. The problem with this one is that we don't have the testing necessary to even know a close number how many people are actually infected with it! All that said, it is probably to better to be safe than sorry and we are likely to see things happen here in the US in the next few days to a week we probably did not think we'd see here! Don't be surprised if we see some sort of Martial Law enacted very shortly.

They could continue the season if they changed the rule to put the runner Out by bumping elbows instead of tagging with a possibly contaminated ball.

Was hoping to see how they would look late in the year once they got more familiar with each other on field. Rylan Galvan (UT commit) had just started to be in line up as a DH last two games. Potential is there for them to have several promising seasons. Hopefully they get a shot this season to make a run.

I was looking forward to seeing how Sinton did this Season also. Not only did Sinton have a player committed to Texas, but they also had players committed to LSU and Oklahoma State. I am also very confident Sinton have Freshmen who will also receive Division 1 scholarships next year. College Coaches in Baseball do their Recruiting thru Select Baseball. They can go to Select Baseball Tournaments and see the Best Players competing against each other.

The truth is that hundreds of cases of the virus went undocumented because of the lack of test kits to verify. I have a friend who is a doctor in Houston and he told me we about to see the virus explode in major population centers in Texas. There’s a reason that the authorities are shutting down so many things and that’s to limit exposure. Stay safe and keep your family close. Good luck out there!

China had Textile workers flying directly to Italy from Wuhan and several doctors in Wuhan warned about it back in Dec and they were silenced and censured. China knew of the problem .
