Well it’s official Flour Bluff hires within. Coach Baker is announced as the new OC to lead the Hornets to the promised land. Don't know how the kids respond to him. Guess we'll just have to see? AGAIN......since he's been here for 8 years MAYBE...he brings back the veer into the offense. Just for something more than just the spread.

It’ll be interesting to see who Steinbruck fills the new position with. Will it be a promotion within or will he seek an OC that has a proven record? Will he choose a guy that runs the spread or in tight and under center? I hope he takes his time and pursues a guy that can come in and immediately make a difference someone not within the walls of FB. I’m sure there will be a few excellent OC’s knocking at the door. Like I’ve said before who wouldn’t want to Coach here in Flour Bluff paradise city!! You have great fishing 1 minute from the school and all the beach you need 5 minutes away. Cmon man! Was just down in the Bluff last weekend and tried out the newish Black Diamond Oyster Bar location. Def smaller place but the oysters were on point. Had a great time hanging out in the Bluff with my cousins. I really like it down there!

Dont know what he brings to the table as far as play calling and development of QBs. I wonder if he keeps the same air raid system in place? To me it seems easier to take what Richards did and scheme it with more variety in terms of receiver routes. How bout some crosses with picks and the like. Is the Oline coach staying or going with Richards? That will be an important part of the puzzle as well. Gotta have the boys up front executing and opening up holes for Miles.

I think your team will like that bye week as it will let rest some of the dinged up players get well.

I would much rather see the boys sharpen the iron against a top notch Calallen team than Laredo or Beeville. Not saying those teams are weak, but we know the ground and pound team the River rats always bring.

It's copy and paste from Coach Steinbruck's tweet so I don't know.

I thought the game had already been agreed to. I don't see Calallen has anything to gain playing Jourdanton.

I think Coach Rhoades had Coach Danaher's ear early and Cal has a 9 district and limited non dist. They were both standing together at the meeting. Coach Danaher is probably longtime friend of Jourdanton Coach.

Coach Danaher is probably longtime friend of Jourdanton Coach. Cal is in a 6 team district not 9. They supposedly had provisional agreements to play GP, FB and Jourdanton. Comes the crunch I would choose the most helpful to my team. As one had to be dropped I would have let the playing down game go in the best intrest of my team. Lacking perennial power status opponent playing down makes no sense to me.

My boy decided after finishing up his first couple years of college locally that aTm CC was a better option than aTm in College Station. For some reason I think that may have something to do with staying in my cousin's house on the island and having two badazz fishing boats at his disposal under the deck about 30 seconds away from touching the water on a boatlift ride down! lmao Don't get me wrong, that campus at Corpus is extremely nice but I think that CS ring opens a few more doors with a lot less push than the one from the CC campus does.

I agree with that assessment, but I can understand your boys reasons for wanting to come here to the Island University, especially if he has access to a boat. Funny how that works because I have a son a few years removed from Flour Bluff and as soon as he could he was gone to CStation. I think either campus will serve them well and pay dividends down the road. As long as they aren’t going to UT they have made the right choice...lol!
