When I graduated in 1956, I was 6 ft. 1 in and 172 lbs and I was big enough to play DI football. Now if you are that size, you need to be 4.6 or faster in the forty to play DI football. 4.6 40 speed at that size probably is not going to get you in to a D1 school nowadays. You have 6'4" 220 lb kids running 4.6s now!

Congratulations to Steve for making first team Allstate at running back and the other Sandcrab players that made the team. Calhoun running back Steve Johnson was selected to the first-team on the Associated Press’ Sports Editors Class 5A all-state football team released Wednesday. Johnson rushed for 1,986 yards and 26 touchdowns during the regular season. Johnson’s teammate, Caleb Harrington, was a second-team pick at offensive lineman. Earning honorable from Victoria West were seniors Tyvon Hardrick and Jonathan Buckner. Calhoun’s Cade Kveton, Jarius Stewart and Heath Henke also earned honorable mention. Do you have his numbers rushing going into this year. As a FB my guess is he has as many yards as the next two FB's on the Calhoun all time rushing board.

Steve is going to have a great year for sure but I predict a breakout year for Jarius Stewart he is starting to make people take notice with two small College offers already and I am sure more to come by season end.
I saw his times on a football camp he recently attended ran the 40 twice with times of 4.5 and a 4.6. and got a agility grade of 9.7 he is going to surprise some teams this year at running back also he is bigger and faster this year.
This was posted before he started receiving offers

Would love to see what East and West say about backing out on Calhoun to play farther away. You still think people are scared to play Calhoun? You act like y'all are Aledo or North Shore lol At least since y'all dropped to down to 4A we don't have to hear you cry about enrollment being unfair....but I'm sure you're happy to be one of the BIGGEST in 4AD1 and you're not worried about it being unfair for those smaller schools toward the bottom of 4AD1 in enrollment.

I for one am happy they dropped would rather have bigger numbers then smaller 👍. I really don’t believe there will be a season this year hope I am wrong about that though. I believed that Calhoun was going to field a better team this year then last with their entire backfield back and two good strong DB’s on defense. I believe the QB to replace Conner was last years starting safety he was the freshman QB his freshman year but played varsity last year as a Sophomore he is big and tall like Conner and can throw if they ever wanted to lol. They also have a lot of good kids coming up plus some surprise recruits 😃.
Hope there is a season for all the kids involved that want to play but will understand if there isn’t kids safety is first in my book.
On another note Red Rage Victoria East will have a better team then Victoria West this year DCTF got it wrong in their predictions between those two this year West lost all their skill players to graduation.

Nothing matters because we aren't having football this year...ugh well if that's true let's just rank all the weak teams real high, no games to prove otherwise.

Looks like I was wrong on who Wit is going to have at QB if they even play this year after reading the Victoria Advocate article on Calhoun and watching them run drills if they play this year Coach Wit is going with speed at QB with Stewart looks like he found a replacement for him at running Back good find coach...
