Congratulations to Steve for making first team Allstate at running back and the other Sandcrab players that made the team.
Calhoun running back Steve Johnson was selected to the first-team on the Associated Press’ Sports Editors Class 5A all-state football team released Wednesday.
Johnson rushed for 1,986 yards and 26 touchdowns during the regular season.
Johnson’s teammate, Caleb Harrington, was a second-team pick at offensive lineman.
Earning honorable from Victoria West were seniors Tyvon Hardrick and Jonathan Buckner.
Calhoun’s Cade Kveton, Jarius Stewart and Heath Henke also earned honorable mention.

Not predicting anything here, just thinking out loud... but if Calhoun goes Region III, how awesome would a Cal-PLC or Alice-PLC State Semi Final be?

How about a Beeville vs PLC with the Wing-T vs Triple option. Coach Sosa is one of the better Line Backer coaches in this area, PLC might have a problem with Beeville.
May not have to wait for Semi’s, Beeville played El Campo in Bi-Dist this past season. I don’t know what happened to Beeville but they lost bad.

I thought Soza was a QB and Wing T offense guy. I must have been thinking of a different guy.

Because yes, Chris is a QB and offense guy.

Coach Sosa is strong on defense and GP had to worry about the Beeville Linebackers when GP played them. Justin Sosa works in the oil patch now but Coach Eric Sosa handles the offense and is also Track coach along with his sister Felicia Ramirez. Coach Sosa signed a 2 year contract for $125,000.

Not sure what’s so intriguing about a Beeville slot-t versus PLC triple option when Calallen wing-t has been playing PLC triple option for several years. I don’t see Beeville being a tougher opponent than Calallen when it comes to those two offenses.

Why leave Beeville out of the equation? Yes Beeville runs the Slot-T (Modified Delaware Wing-T) and lets be fair.

Congrats to Calhoun’s QB Kestler who was recruited in football by Navy, but has signed to play baseball at Blinn College.

Not only are they a top 25 program now with the new defensive coordinator there but that is likely a top 10 education in the world!.

Yeah, sounds like it. Hope that he does not regret the decision later on down the road.

I was surprised when I read it in the Victoria Advocate that he chose Blinn over Navy but maybe he is going to follow his fathers path i believe he is in the medical field.
