Why don't you call Coach Danaher and ask him why he doesn't get it? I'm sure he could learn so much about football from you since you obviously get it! He should hold a Coastal bend Coaching Clinic. Then every CB team Would win the state championship next year.

These comments from cyber bullies are the same doubting Thomas that said I had a negative attitude when I gave my analysis of GP football over the past 4 years. GP chickens have come home to roost. GP set a new record this year on missing the playoffs. Coach Danaher goes 3 or 4 deep and has been to the big dance. Coach Danaher motivates players and beat VM with a lesser team a few years ago when I was jumped on when I said VM had the best team in the district. Vm does not have a great coaching staff. FB has a pretty good coaching staff but have to be carefull making changes as it could get worse. Coach Jason Herring is number one in this area on motivating players. He got his start as a assistant under Coach Sam Harrell who took Aledo to OT the other day with a lesser team.

My comment is stupid??? Every team in the Coastal Bend can’t win the state title when they only allow one champion at a time.

I remember a few years ago when Coach Herring ran the score up on a team and the coach of the opposing team refused to shake his hand after the game. Other coaches were whining and bad mouthing Coach Herring. Jealousy may have been a motivating factor. Coach Herring was keeping the pedal to the metal getting his players ready for the playoffs. I saw Coach Akins do the same thing. Coach Herring was hired at Refugio to win state titles. The fans, school board,Super at Refugio was tired of just making it to 2nd and 3rd round with players and talent that could go to state.
The coach whining about Coach Herring running up the score on him missed a teachable moment. If you get whipped, convince your players they should work harder and come back stronger next year.

Bring it on cyber bullies. Quit crying about cyber bullies every time someone disagrees with your crazy statements. You know when you write most of that stuff that people will call you out.

These are interesting numbers and Yoe and Shiner would produce interesting numbers and years ago I saw a article on a 6 man valley team, I think and they had a girl for a running back and only 9 or 10 boys in HS and all went out for football. My daughter in law graduated at Coolidge,Tx years ago and only 6 students in her graduation class. She was the only girl. I noticed Refugio had regular kids. They did not have more size or talent. I saw Austin Ochoa break into the open on a long run and he was caught up with 4 Antelope players and tackled. I think Perez receiver is one of Bobcats fastest players and running for a TD and caught from behind by a Post player. Austen Ochoa was leading runner and yards were straight ahead with a leading blocker. Post had 2 QB’s and a 2000 yd rusher and the Bobcat swarming to the ball was awesome. Refugio kids grow up dreaming of being a Bobcat. I think there is another town like that named Celina. Permian has lost there Mojo. GP used to have a rush of girls out for track. What is Refugio doing to keep it going. Calallen is in danger of losing there dominance and having less talent than past years. For Cal to continue, their lesser talent has to have their lesser talent reach higher. If Cal coaching staff gets in a comfort zone, they will follow the same route as GP. I notice the Coach at Refugio is not in his comfort zone. Post saw a different offense than the one San Augustine saw and he had his players travel by Bus the morning of the game to AT&T stadium and sleep in their own bed without the hoopla before the night of the game.

Refugio keeps showing these teams in the Coastal Bend how it is done but they just don’t get it. Raiding other teams players isn’t “how it’s done”. Ochoa was at GP before Herring needed a QB. Now last year he needed a good reciever so he sent out his booster to recruit #25 from ingleside. Take a hard look at the Refugio roster and you can see how many players got moved in over the last few years.

Playing your starters through 3 quarters....even 3.5 quarters I've never had a problem with, even if the score is 70+ to 0!!! I do not have any problem with one team whipping the hell out of another through 3-3.5 quarters. But leaving starters in to the end is BS! Calling timeouts, running reverses, and throwing deep balls with less than 2 minutes left in a playoff game with all your starters in when you are already up by nearly 4 TDs is a different matter and you are a smart enough man to know this. Hell man, they have nearly every kid enrolled at Refugio in the football program and the truth is his backups would lay the wood to the teams they blow out. So, why not let his starters get the work in Monday through Thursday against his 2s and 3s rather than beating up opponents that are not nearly as good as his backups!

WFC, You always complain about being called Mr Negative. The VAST majority of your posts are negative. Here's what I noticed recently: after the San Augustine game you took great pains to comment about Austin. He played badly against Cal as a sophomore. He can't handle pressure, he throws soft passes and isn't very fast, ETC ETC ETC. Yesterday he threw for over 200 yds, ran for over 100, scored ALL 4 of his team's touchdowns. Was voted MVP of the STATE CHAMPIONSHIP GAME. YET NOTHING FROM YOU ABOUT HIS PERFORMANCE EXCEPT THAT HE GOT CAUGHT FROM BEHIND BY SEVERAL POST PLAYERS. Make sure you always emphasize the negative. That's your style.
