Congrats GP! Keep it going! Thank you CalCats. Every Coastal Bend team just makes each team better. The level of competition just gets better each year and that just make every team work harder to improve. I have watched over the years at what programs where doing to improve across the board in South Texas. Great coaching, and great competition has created many very good teams in the area. Congrats to every school who is still battling each week.

My great grandson is on the Rouse varsity in Football and they just finished their spring game. They may be busy. I can check with him to see if he has Rouse update. The Caller did not have anything on future games.

Looks like G-P won the toss & got the 3-game series. To be honest, though, I would not be worried about a 1-game playoff with Malachi Lott on the mound. The kid is a beast & Spencer too. I would be confident with either one.

I would be confident with either one. GP shouldn’t have an issue. Rouse ran out their Ace against CP and he did Ace things and shut down the best offensive team CP has ever had. Your Ace is much better though. Rouse only has a couple of solid hitters and maybe 1 that can put one out of the park but I really think GP has a strong upper hand here. Even if it would’ve been CP vs. GP I would’ve said the same thing.

If I where to guess Coach Jonse will stick to the normal playoff rotation he’s been using in the playoffs. Spencer will most likely get the start in 1st game. And Lott will start in game #2. It’s worked very well in they playoffs so far.

Great baseball is played down here.I don't think anybody would argue that but the truth of the matter is that it's been a pretty long dry spell without a South Texas team winning one in the upper classifications. I think the last times were Carroll in 2010. From 2000 to 2010 S Tx brought home some hardware 04' Boerne 05' Calallen 06' New Braunfels 07' Moody 08' Calallen 10' Carroll

Other than Vets no other school is even close to 6A numbers in enrollment. Still the coastal bend can compete at a very high level. We will see soon enough who are contenders or pretenders?

A perfect example was in the last game of the Ray vs Vets game. Just a couple more outs and Ray moves on in the playoffs. Bases loaded and a stud hitter comes to the plate. Do you pitch to him or throw around him and allow a walk which would tie up the game? Well he pitched right at him and grand slam resulted. That ended Ray’s season. One simple call like that in baseball can be devastating to one team and breath life into another. Congrats to Vets for moving on and great job Ray on the season.

I cannot believe I left that one off. I remember them beating Clemens in the 3rd or 4th round and then beating Alice for the regional championship that year.
