My son's 8th grade team FB lost 50-0 to Cal and it could have been 80-0. Calling off the dogs. I honestly hope our son's future games will not be this way. Good games are way better than the mentioned blowouts.

Good games are way better than the mentioned blowouts. Yes, the currnent soph class at FB had a rough time in junior high. As freshmen, they fared way better. They were only 5-5, but never lost a game by more than 6 points. The 18-12 game against Cal that year was a better game to watch...I must agree. I'm sure we are in store for some close ones over the next few years with Cal.

From experience, Junior High success doesn't neccesarly translate to High School success.

From experience, Junior High success doesn't neccesarly translate to High School success. True...the FB group of seniors that were undefeated district champs a couple of years ago didn't win any games in 8th grade...they were 0-10. Pratt and Bonnette went and talked to the 8th graders that year (which included my son) to pick them up a little due to their poor record. The kids really appreciated it and it was agreat gesture on Adrus' part to do so.

Hmmmm....what grade did Bonnette escape the evil empire to come to the truth, justice and the American way at Flour Bluff? (it was also nice of him to leave the escape tunnel open for Villarreal too. LOL)

From experience, Junior High success doesn't neccesarly translate to High School success. Well it might not in football but it does translate in baseball. Just sayin....anybody disagree?

The kid that hit 20 HR's at Oil Belt when I was 12 and playing there never hit another after we moved up to Jackie Eden Field and a kid that was marginal ended up with an impressive batting avg his senior year at C5. CFWB should remember them both...back when Yogi was calling balls and strikes! I think Laguna LL never did squat in all stars, but the FB freshmen team went 20-5 and won or tied for 1st in district last year...

We don't really have a good measure for baseball since in the Middle School level we don't have Middle School teams. Around here, most of your select and league teams have mixtures of kids from different schools. Which brings me to another thing that has puzzled me since I've lived here is that most of the kids that go to TM and Calallen play in the different youth leagues here, but Middle school one program goes north with some kids and the other goes south with the others.

Covers more ground for "transfers in" that way.
