Why do small towns have more than one high school? Are they trying to waste your tax money for school properties?

Magnolia and Tomball is mostly urban sprawl in unincorporated areas out from 290 & 249. People looking to get out Harris County Just because the city is small does not mean the school has low attendance numbers. Aledo has a population of 3700 yet they are a 5A school with 1700 students. Floresville is nearly 8000 in population but with a student population of 1200. Those school just have more people living outside of the city limits is all.

On the flip side Temple has a current population of close to 80,000 and we only have 1 5a next year 6a hs. That will change in 2 to 3 years when West Temple opens up its 4A D1 in city limits but not in the same school district.

I heard it will be in the Belton ISD and will be called Lake Belton High School ...mascot: Broncos...colors: red & silver

Friendswood HS is in Friendswood ISD, and Clear Brook, also in Friendswood, is in the Clear Creek ISD.

Frisco has land in McKinney for HS 11 or 12. Prosper’s 2nd HS will be in Frisco. Denton Braswell is in Little Elm. Sucks and is confusing, but that’s what we get with having ISDs.

And then you have Judson Vets and Wagner in the city of San Antonio. Cy-Fair has a school in Houston. The list goes on.
