Maybe in years past I would have been surprised by this score. Not this year and we'e already played enough games that should have served as the "wake up call." No one has a guarantted path to the first slots in the zones and thus an easier ride to playoffs. And those who have to play as the second and third place teams for slot three and four are going to be in a fight for their lives and possibly a very early end to the 2017 season. And unexpectly at least from the media types perspective. No not surprised, but I thought maybe Calallen was turning the corner after the come back tie and win in the last tournament and the win against Ray this week. It sure looked good early last night and then the 5th innning implosion occurred. 6-7 runs on one hit I believe. Walks, hit batsman, pass balls, errors are a recipe for a loss. I cannot remember the last time Alice beat Calallen in baseball, but this year looks like open game for any team. 2007

Been out of pocket for a bit. I am very shocked and bit upset with our record. Cats need to get going, this was not supposed to be going this way... at least that is what the experts put out before the season. We were ranked 6 or so. I know King, Carroll and Moody were also ranked up there as well; are any of those teams doing any better?

At this point the playoff race favors the South Zone.

I know King, Carroll and Moody were also ranked up there as well; are any of those teams doing any better? I'm not shocked in the sense that I felt our preseason ranking was too high in part to the number of seniors who were going to be replaced from the starting lineup and some green arms on the pitching staff. Normally (at least by the standards of a few years back), many of those issues would have been ironed out in one way or another. If this season continues to follow this road and ends early, some self examination is going to be in order (looking at how things were done in past) . I will expand on that once that fork has been met in the road.

It looks like Moody is the real deal. I really don't think they will go undefeated either. Although they seem to be the best team in the district so far.

Seems like they wake up on Tuesdays to later go to sleep on Friday. Seriously that has been the trend so far this season no matter who the Friday opponent is. That's been the trend even during the tourney season even in wins we squeaked out.

If you have been involved in youth baseball in the Corpus area for the last 6 or 7 years, you know that Moody has some very good players coming back. I am talking about players that dominated youth tournaments when they were 12-14 years old. They will be very good for the next 3 years at least. Then again, Calallen has these same type of players. Carroll does also and King has a few too. The district will be crazy good if the CCISD teams are in the same district with Calallen and Moody. Flour Bluff will have some very long district seasons for the next several years. I would be very surprised if they make the playoffs for the next 3 years. Opinions of people who are very much involved are more optimistic about FB baseball than you. I suspect your personal disappointments might be somewhat the source of your little black overhead cloud. Lets see what happens. Looking forward to some good games. I was a year off because of Montoya's super performance last year. FB Fan - You are now seeing what I posted about last year.

So with all the talk about King this year I expect they will down Moody tonight. My Cats will get back on track just wait, winners always bounce back. Calallen and Moody have been the Gold standard for decades, I don't expect that will change any time soon.
