Wow I am shocked at the way Cuero beat Sinton this week. I did not see that one or the Navarro win coming. Congrats to the Gobblers. Looks like they are the real deal.

Wow I am shocked at the way Cuero beat Sinton this week. I did not see that one or the Navarro win coming. Congrats to the Gobblers. Looks like they are the real deal. At the beginning of the season Cuero defense had a bunch of starters out injured and the offense has been completely revamped since the start of the season. To hold Navarro and Sinton to those kind of numbers tells you what kind of a defense that Cuero now has. WOS is the next target and yes everyone knows about WOS and its team, but do they know the Cuero Defense? They will this weekend.

Don't get your expectations to high. Cuero is playing some freshman and sophomores. I saw them early in the year and went out on the field after the game and they are a solid looking ball team. Sometimes freshman run out of steam in a longer season. Sometimes they just get stronger. Cuero only has 9 Sr. On the team. Cuero had a good following for a out of town team even though they had lost some games to bigger schools. Cuero supports their ball team but look for WOS to come loaded for bear(gobblers). Giddings did well playing Cuero and Coach Cris Jones son was QB. I watched WOS play a few years ago at Huntsville and they had speed. The gobblers have solid arms and legs and uniform in size. They don't lose a lot of ball games but neither does WOS. Cuero knocked Coach Ray Akins out of the playoffs 1970,1973,1974,1975. GP is 0 - 4 against Cuero. Sinton lost their QB before playing Cuero and you don't want to play a team again you have beat earlier in the year. Example Giddings and Bellville this year. It is the same in the NFL.

Hope they can get it done wfc. Sounds like Cuero should be very good the next few years as well.
And yes, they had a very nice crowd gathering in the Alamo Dome as we were departing Saturday evening.
As far as beating teams twice in a season, it all depends on the two teams. But if they are equal in abilities it certainly makes it much more difficult that second time around after the first win.
