Is there any kind of internet video feed of the R4 Track Prelims on Friday? I'd like to be able to follow the PLC Boys Relay teams on line. I've not heard of a live feed on this meet of any kind. Are PLC's relay teams fast? Times? 4x100, 4x200, 4x400

Realistically, the PLC teams are not likely to be competitive at the Regional level but they sure are fun to watch. Its the first time any of our Boys relay teams have made it this far in quite a while and to have all three teams in the meet is really cool.
The two sprint teams, 4X100 and 4X200, have come out of nowhere to do pretty well at the district and area meets. Our 4X400 team squeaked into the Regional meet after Calallen was DQ'd at Area.
Realistically, Medina Valley and Victoria West are the two teams from our area (29-4A/30-4A) with the best chance in San Antonio.

Flour Bluff & West both qualified for Saturday's finals in the 4x100 relay, with the 4th & 8th fastest times. Austin LBJ ran a 41.97 & SA Brennan a 42.01 as the two best qualifying times. Tommy Martin won his heat in the 100 to qualify for those finals. I believe Girdy came in 4th in his heat. Not sure if he qualified for tomorrow's finals. #1 had a bad start and finished 7th in his heat. Track season is officially over for the G-P boys this year. It was a lot of fun!

Thanks for the update 81. Sorry to hear GP and your son did not qualify for finals. But, just to get to the regional meet is very, very good.

Congrats to Haley Teel in winning both the discus & shot put at the Region IV track & field championships. She's the only G-P athlete to qualify for the State championship track meet in Austin in a couple of weeks.
Good luck to all the Coastal Bend athletes today in the running finals!

Tommy Martin won the 100m for region 4. I don't think the 4Γ100 made it though. State bound for #3! ( I couldn't remember his twitter handle)

This young lady was very impressive winning the shot with a throw of 48' 4" with #2 at 42' 7" She won the discus with a throw of 144' 6" and 2nd was 131' 4" IMPRESSIVE to say the least!

I hope he is OK to go at State in two weeks. Not sure what happened but he pulled up right at the finish line and it surely didn't look good. I will not speculate but will say that he tried to walk off but was put in the cart. I'm sure this did not help FB's chance at qualifying in the 4x100. Kid is fast!

In 4a SA Brennan won both the boys and girls regional titles. Brennan dominated 4a this year in R4 but it is to be expected as they have had 5a numbers since last year already and this year they are actually bigger than quite a few of the 5a schools in SA area. I was at the meet and can only say if they'd been competing at the 5a level neither team would have come close to winning 5a.
Medina Valley boys did well, really well do to the Champlin kid. He won the 200m, 400m, and anchored the winning 4x400 relay which is where all 43 of their points came from.
Boys
1 San Antonio Brennan 66 2 Medina Valley 43 3 Boerne Champion 42 4 Austin Johnson 38 5 Mission Veterans Memorial 32 6 Dripping Springs 31 7 Mission 26 8 Austin Vandegrift 24 8 Cedar Park Vista Ridge 24 9 Corpus Christi Flour Bluff 22 10 Corpus Christi Miller 21
Girls
1 San Antonio Brennan 76 2 Marble Falls 52 2 Schertz Clemens 52 3 Gregory-Portland 41 4 Buda Hays 38 5 Leander Rouse 36 6 San Antonio Alamo Heights 34 7 Leander 28 8 Victoria East 25 9 Victoria West 23 10 Cedar Park 22

Our #1 100m kid has been a bit tweaked the last two weeks and it cost him a state appearance in the 100m by a couple of hundreths Saturday. He is going in the 4x100 & 4x200 but this is the first time in 3 years he did not qualify for state in the 100m and it is heartbreaking. Kid can fly and ran 10.47 this season early in the year. A time like that in Austin puts him on the awards stand and possibly gives us a chance at the team title if both relays medal.

I was talking to his patents and they said he has a pulled hamstring. You know how hamstrings are. Gator pulled his before areas and he's still not fully recovered.
