Falls City advances to Class A Division II state title game
Falls City is headed to the Class A Division II state championship game after a 36-34 victory over Tenaha on Friday at Waco ISD Stadium.
Justin Twine rushed for 252 yards and four touchdowns on 19 carries.
The Beavers will face the winner of Saturday's Wellington-Albany game at 1 p.m. Thursday at AT&T Stadium in the state final.
Tenaha scored with 2:12 left and had a two-point conversion attempt to tie the game, but the pass attempt failed.
Falls City (14-0) got revenge from a 2012 Class A Division II state semifinal, which Tenaha won 42-14.
Tenaha (11-2) had a 21-point third quarter to put Falls City behind, but the Beavers bounced back with two scores in the fourth quarter. Twine scored on 46-yard run, then Austin Camber recovered a fumble on the following kickoff. Ninety-one seconds after Twine scored, Dean Gaskamp's 24-yard TD run gave the Beavers a 36-28 lead.
