Wait a minute....didn't you and cochino blast me and a few other Crab fans for making "ridiculous" predictions earlier this summer? A quote from my post: PLC vs CC Carrol 2012 PLC+32 / 2013 PLC+28 (seems logical) why not? has Carrol improved or found an answer for the option? I doubt it.I predicted a 28 point victory and you are almost doubling that...where's cochino? Get him, pops... "ridiculous statement, based on what?, haven't even started practice yet, want some of what your smokin, stupid kids, dilusional, lost to tive that calallen schooled, over rated"....did I leave anything out? Oh, wait... Ya'll will prolly make Carroll out to be terrible but whoever you play will be made out to be better than advertised. Dude, PLC is playing Carroll. Dude, I knew that several months ago. Funny how people say a glass is half empty when they are thirsty but its half full when they aren't. The view from your seat is very different than the view from mine...just sayin

I say Calhoun throws at least 5 passes and has one for a touchdown tonight..... No way....Whit has a motto: only 3 things can happen when you pass and 2 of them are bad.

52-10, PLC 1st half, full speed with their usual grind it out option offense. 2nd half open up a more diverse offense with some actual passes being thrown around to some recievers who need to learn how to catch instead of block. Running up the score on a hapless Carroll defense would be a waste of time when some underclassmen and recievers need the work in real gametime.Risking an injury to a starter in a game thats gotten out of reach, brings back some bad memories to some of us GP fans.

I don't see the newly minted passing game being uncorked unless it's necassary. I would think that is saved for district or in situations of need. But ya never know.

Here is Dave Cambells Football website prediction. Port Lavaca Calhoun at Corpus Christi Carroll Death, taxes and an exceptional Calhoun running game: these three things are guaranteed. And with the return of RB Cory Williams, who ran for more than 1,100 yards and 16 scores before injuring his knee in the 7th game of the season, and QB Hunter Boerm, a thundering cloud of a run-first running back. Corpus Christi Carroll probably don’t match up well with the Sandcrabs – they did go 1-9 last year – but Tigers fans should be excited about what RB Charles Miles can do this season. It could be enough to boost them into the playoffs, but probably not enough to win this one. Tepper’s pick: Port Lavaca Calhoun 42, Corpus Christi Carroll 21 The write up loses credibility the moment the writer mentions Carroll being a possible playoff team. No he don't when you look at our district! If they beat King and South San they are in! Yes, they could easily be 2-8 and in the playoffs. Southsan is very bad and King isn't all that much better so you do the math. STeele SA EC SA Southwest Then you have King, Southsan, and Carroll fighting for the last playoff birth to get absolutely mud-holed in the first round!

The write up loses credibility the moment the writer mentions Carroll being a possible playoff team. not really... have you SEEN their district? They could improve to 2-8 and be a playoff team. Ding Ding ding! WE have a winner. You are exactly right Tom. Now, I don't know how much worse Carroll is than King this year but I think they beat Southsan again so the winner of that CC matchup gets the 4th spot IMO. I wouldn't want to bet a whole lot on the outcome of a King/Carroll matchup!

Now, my last comment on this thread.........
Why was it started and who cares what the final score is? This game will not help either team in any way that I can see. It will be one-sided from the get go. Unless PLC's coach gets a 14 point lead and plays a ton of 2s and 3s to get them game time experience.......then this game benefits one side!

6-2 with Carroll hitting a grand slam in the 2nd inning... Oh wait wrong sport.... :-)
I think whit keeps the score down by subbing early and often... 56-7....

Well first of all, he stold that motto from Darrel K. Royal. But Royal said that half a century ago. No offense but any coach that still thinks that way in the year 2013 is just flat out stupid.

There is a reason Calhoun runs it, not going to explain.

As Clemensbuff pointed out. This ridiculous thread should have never been started. Should have kept this banter in the game thread. No need for a "Special" separate thread. Time to step off the soapboxes and come back to reality. I know this that PLC took Carroll lightly from last year's big win. Well, it was the 2nd year under HC Trevino and I am sure that he learned something from that game last year. IMO it was the lack of fire in PLC that made this game close. Maybe Coach Whit has fuel to light that fire now. If PLC does not improve drastically, it will be a long night when PLC goes to Calallen.
