W.B. Ray
There's an old guy at church that talks HS football with me. He played at Ray for a couple years back in the 50s. They have a good history too.
Go Texans!

Coming in second would have to be Uvalde. My dad spent some years growing up in the Uvalde/Reagan Wells area in the 50s. He loved it there.

Awesome! We need some ray peeps! 1 of only 4 schools in the area with a state title.

Uvalde is going to have some pretty good teams going forward. I know coach Gary Mac personally. He purposely played underclassmen last year, because his seniors didn't perform last year, and they wouldn't buy into the program. I can guarantee you that Uvalde will improve in the next 2-3 years.

If Calhoun ceased to exist, i would adopt GP as my team of choice. I like their fans, and their players play hard and leave it on the field.

If not Calhoun. I'd be a Refugio fan. I guess. Or Industrial. If they had a decent program again.

I was a Calhoun fan before Whit got here. First time I lived here was 99. Lean years for sure. Moved back in 04. always root for the team where I live. doesn't matter how good they are or aren't. Kids are playing for their schools and community. The least I can do is support them.

I like Flour Bluff and Calallen. Their fans are knowledgeable and realistic.

Uvalde had serious speed and athleticism under the spread. Look forward to them putting up a fight vs Laredo LBJ this time around.

Lots of sophomores on that team last year. I know coach Griffin personally, and he is a good man and a great coach. He got rid of all the deadbeats last year and danced with the kids who wanted to play. They may not ever be a powerhouse, but he will get all he can out of those kids.
