From the several track meets I've watched, Flour Bluff boys are tearing it up. Their relay teams are pretty much winning every event at all the track meets. The only time that they didn't finish in 1st was against Carroll's sprint relay teams. Look for the Bluff relay teams to win district and possibly the regionals and make it to the state meet.

Here is the top 10 in each event in the SA area so far this season. There are some Laredo & RGV kids also and I'm guessing it is probably due to the fact that they ran in meets in the SA area.

^^^ Looks like Cibolo Steele has some real speedsters there. Always nice to have speed........ But it's even better when they suit up in pads in the Fall! I also like the fact that we have a couple kids that are good 'throwers'. We'be got a couple of D linemen that are throwing well and one DE that is actually running the 110m hurdles. Now that is what I call 'athletic' being he is about 6'4"+ and 235-240!

Judson - 3:18 - and it is the middle of March - that is impressive. Other than that I'd give the pole vaulter some love - except he's at a charter school.

Yep C buff most of those vaulters are training over in your part of the woods, St Hedwig, with Glen Dickson. My nieces boy from Yoakum trains there as well, Cole Knocke.

I think I may have seen him vault at a meet last year at Canyon HS here in NB. I saw two boys from Yoakum and they were both very, very impressive!

Many thanks, Yoakum has always been a school that produces good vaulters and now that they get the extra training from Glen they are getting even better.

Yesterday 30-4a meet is in the paper. G-P girls won district. Victoria won the boys. G-P boys won the Mile relay! Interesting note: a transfer to TM won the 1600 in JV and beat the varsity time . He was not released by his transfer coach and is a junior. HE was fast with a steady speed.

Good luck to all the Coastal Bend track athletes who qualified for the state track & field meet in May in Austin, Texas. I know that both the Flour Bluff 4 x 100 & 4x 200 relay teams qualified for the state meet. Here at G-P, Devin Bisby qualified for state in the shot put & Devante Cooks qualified in the high jump. Two of our girls also qualified. Corina Buerk in the 800-meter dash and Haley Teel in the discus & shot put. Haley is the daughter of Larry Teel, a former G-P football player who went on to play college football at UTEP. Haley has a great shot at winning state in both of her events! Again, good luck to all!
