Steele's started this morning. My son is attending his 1st one as he's going to enter the 7th grade. He was pretty pumped up about it. My wife said he looked kind of small compared to some of the others there when she signed him in! LOL Imagine that! I told her not to worry, he's plenty big and plenty strong for a 12 year old! Not to mention he's damn near as tough as his old man is! ;D When does everybody else's camps start? What is the cost of everybody's? The cost at Steele was $60 per child. I believe the UIL allows 45 days for this type of work in the Summer and it cannot be 'sport specific' and it is for both boys and girls!

I know that proud parent feeling when you take you kid to their first practice knowing the fundimentals and hard work that they are putting in. I've got all girls so mine is in the form of little miss kickball and dance class but still same basic idea. Hope he has a safe and fun camp.

My boys are grown and in their thirties, but I remember those days. The best of luck to your son and may he have a fun and safe camp.

My daughter is a soon to be soph flute in the Steele Band and her quartet got all 1s and superior ratings at State last month. I was just as proud of her for that as I will be if my son plays on a title team one day. Let me tell you that I know about the hard work it takes to play fb, baseball, basketball, & even track but those band kids work their azzez off just as hard during the summer to perfect their marching and playing skills. My hat is off to each and every one of them as they do it for the love of music because they damn sure don't get the same love that the fb team gets! I also attended many girls HS basketball games the 3 years my niece was on the Steele varsity and can say that I enjoyed each and every one of them as much as any football game......save for the title game this year. It was very exciting watching them win the region years in a row and getting to play in the state tournament. IMO, all kids who give the effort to do any kind of athletic, band, or academic event deserve praise!

Mydaughter is three she just finished her first year in kickball she was the youngest on the team. They don't play for score or anything just alot of leaning positions and fundamentals. Everyone gets a turn ect. ect. Well she got her first trophy. She was sooooo excited and proud I think she also won an award for most improved player. it was too cute.

You know outside of south texas, I don't know if they even have leagues. My sister lives in Dallas and they dont seem to have it there. But jesus I watched some of the older kids play and they are hardcore. I don't know if I could hang with those girls.

I don't know anything about girls kickball leagues, but I bet its more fun to watch a kickball game than a dance recital!
