Im just shocked with Bay City I saw them play the Ricebirds which was the m0st lopsided game in the series El Campo has scored the most point in a single game in the series I saw the 0-10 Black Cats of 1974 and I think that was a better team than this one Iactually kinda feel sorry for them after close to 30 years of greatness how can this be Bay Citys Record so far Sweny 48 BC 13 El Campo 56 BC 6 V West 34 BC 14 Brazospot 52 BC 34 thaey play Richmond Foster this week Any Ideals?

It's like Bay City and Port Lavaca switched places, as it seems they started to decline as we started to get better. I honestly hope they can turn that program around to what it once was, I would love to play them again when they are at their best

Talk about a program that really hit rock bottom.

Like a few state titles to even come close and no one around here has done that yet. I think he meant in the sense that we now are winning ball games and Bay City is losing theirs.

In the old days, we would lose ours and they would win theirs.... Oh, never mind. Not worth discussing, really.

yes I meant that we are winning games and making the playoffs and they are getting whooped by everyone. Now making final fours and winning championships we still got a ways to go.

I think that PLC has a very good chance this year to go to the big game. If we do and win, then what will everyone say? I know.....It was just one time, our schedule was weak, you have to go year after year, blah blah..
You know what I would say...we won a state championship....have you? lol
Do not get me wrong, I am not saying we are going, I am saying we have a good chance.

Was it like two or three years ago that the Bay City Athletic Director/ Head Coach Robert Blackmon dismissed some Assistant Coaches and blamed them for Bay City's fall from greatness. Seems like an article was posted from one of the Victoria or El Campo posters on the old forum. Bay City now has Dan Burk as the AD/ HC. He hired Dusty Ortiz as his OC this year, but it seems to not be working so far.

That does seem like a really strange situation. There are some formerly great Metroplex schools that have fallen on tough times, but usually the reason has to do with some combination of new high schools opening or a changing community. Lewisville used to be really good but isn't any more, probably because of these two reasons.
But I don't know that that's happened with Bay City. What's going on there?

Same in the '60s in DFW a new school would open in the growth area and the talent would evaporate in the old one as the confident successful families moved out. Birdville (Became old Haltom) > Richland > New one called Haltom > New one called Birdville now for example.

Not that they were ever really good, but they've been pretty bad since Ryan and then Guyer opened up.
