Not that this is pertinent but I am the head JV coach/asst. dc for the CenTex homeschool 6-man team, and since I saw steele's JV score I figured I'd post mine too. Last night we had a rematch from our 1st game of the season against Jonesboro... In the 1st game they won 36-6 as we had the turnover bug bite us 3 times going into the end zone. Last night we won 36-0 and moved our record to 6-1 on the year... It was fun seeing the look on their faces when we hit them in the mouth for 4 quarters and took them to the woodshed if you will... 1st time CenTex has ever beaten them in the history of the team.

WOW! Now that is a great turnaround from week 1 man. Job well done indeed! Congrats to your team. Redemption is very sweet indeed.

Aledo Sub-Varsity Complete Clean Sweep of District 8-5A Opponents Commentary by Steve Keck- Aledo Sports Daily
Another sub-varsity season is over with no team in Aledo’s new District 8-5A even coming close to beating the Bearcats in 2014.
This district was only a touch better than the fiasco of playing in the district with all the FWISD teams plus Granbury the last two years. From a competitive standpoint, it was very disappointing.
Besides our sub-varsity teams playing Southlake Carroll and Allen, no team even came close to our Freshmen Orange and JV Orange teams.
In District 8-5A, Aledo was 21-0 on the sub-varsity level with a combined score of 945-132 or an average of 45-6 per game. The closest team to Freshmen Orange was Crowley losing by 36 points. For the Freshmen Black, it was Everman losing by 14 to Aledo. For the JV Orange, it was Everman losing by 15.
Add in the Aledo varsity going 7-0 outscoring their opponents by an average of 41 points with the closest game against Everman with Aledo only winning by 21 points.
I don’t think the demise of Aledo’s football teams will come anytime soon. Down the road at Aledo Middle School, the Seventh Grade and Eighth Grade “A” teams went 16-0 outscoring opponents 655-20.
Looking around the area, the same results would be there no matter which district Aledo plays in. District 5-5A is basically the same as when Aledo played there a few years ago. Azle, Brewer, and Boswell plus the Wichita Falls teams. District 6-6A has all FWISD teams, Lake Dallas, Birdville and the woeful Grapevine Mustangs. District 7-5A is the district Aledo just totally dominated the past two years.
The good news for Bearcat fans is there is a motherload of talent coming down the pipeline. Both the JV Orange and Freshmen Orange teams have some tremendous talent on both sides of the ball.
We actually may see some of this talent during the varsity playoff season. Aledo has a tradition of not only bringing players up, but letting them loose on the special teams. Stay tuned.
