Reminds me of that crap they brew in Mombasa, Kenya. Tusker. Not the same name as this but they had the "quality" and taste down pat. Had to strain it through your teeth and spit out the chunks. Yeah, I drank just one bottle of that Tusker Lager while on R&R in Mombassa, Kenya, from Somalia. After being in the Hell hole of Somalia then to be tortured with that nasty stuff they called "Beer?"

Actually won money playing black jack at that little casino. We were smart enought to quit when we got ahead and they switched dealers who started getting whatever she needed way too often.

Tried a few new beers.
Blue Moon Agave Nectar Ale -Meh. Not much too it.
Morimoto Dead Guy Soba Ale -Partnership between Dead Guy and the Iron Chef. Not too bad.
Indian Wells Amnesia IPA -Terrible. No redeeming qualities.
Saint Arnold Icon Blue -Very nice dark brew, but $10 for a four-pack? Ouch.

Had a great week for beer. On Monday, I toured the Karbach Brewery in Houston. Karbach is pretty new brewery and is premiering soon in the San Antonio market. www.karbachbrewing.com/Sympathy for the Lager and Love Street if you enjoy lighter, easy-drinking beers. For those looking for something stronger, El Hopadillo and its evil twin, El Hopadillo Negro are both outstanding. My favorite of the tour would be Hop Delusion. On Tuesday, I finally toured the Saint Arnold brewery. The brewery owner himself lead the tour, so that was really cool. I hoping to try some Divine Reserve or one of the Burdon Barrel brews, but they were a tad pricey so I instead tried Icon Green Hefeweizen, the Endeavor IPA, and met an old acquaintance with the Elissa IPA. Tuesday night, the wife and I visited a craft brew pub, The Hay Merchant. Hay Merchant has a huge variety of craft beers, fills growlers, provides exclusive tasting events. Its places like this that make me with I lived in the city. I had a Karbach limited edition dry-hopped Hellfigher imperial stout while there. It was a great trip. I am now up to 136 beers tried.

I had St. Arnold Endeavor Double IPA 22 oz with my dinner. A nice full flavored beer.

I tried the Wasatch Ghost Rider White IPA last night after eating a 22 oz Chicken Fried Steak at Hickory Hollow. Great hoppy beer. Not overbearing.

Before I went to the Houston Yates vs. Houston Scarborough game last night I stopped in an Austin-like eccentric place located in the East End of Downtown Houston. Moon Tower Inn. Had a "Cheech" Burger that was awesome. Tried a light hoppy beer. Hitachino Nest Japanese Classic Ale - Kiuchi Brewery. Not a strong overpowering hoppy flavor. It was good with the burger.

My wife recently went to Florida, and returned with a case of Yuengling Larger. Might be my new favorite beer! Not sold in Texas.... Bummer or #beerproblems.

Its my first non craft beer choice. Its all over the East Cost. From the old timers Yuengling was dirt cheap till about 15 years ago then it got super popular with the college age kids.
