I agree the man is awesome not only as a coach but as a man in general. To outlast every football coach/ad they have had since the 1980's and to take the same "losing attitude" kids and make them champions and winners in all but one maybe two seasons in his almost 40 year career is amazing. The fact he not only knows and remembers his former athletes like it was yesterday they played for him but the fact that he also still talks to most of them is awesome. They broke the mold when they made coach Craig. Hard nosed and tough but also got results and cares. I'd vote for the man to run this country heck all the politicians could use some whipping into shape... A few hundred horses and gassers should help.... Anyway I'm so glad coach Craig has had the success he has had at TM, just shows with the right coach and motivating factors those kids can win. They just gotta believe in the system like each of his players do in basketball.

Well said Warcat....Craig not only remembers his former players, he remembers all of the kids he has ever coached against no matter how many years it has been. We developed a facebook page to share stories and keep in touch with all the alumni of Bobby Craig's program. I was there the first year he came and we lost to Flour Bluff in the Regional Finals. It was a great season and a hell of a way to start off his career at T-M. When you say tough...you mean tough! I continue to donate to his program and will as long as he needs it.

Jeremy Brittain....averaging a double-double...20 points and 10 boards per game...and, he is a senior, but the age of a junior. If you get a chance, go see them play.

Look at that young stud driving the lane! Anyone who knows Coach Craig knows he loved people to take charges...looking at that physique I think he probably liked people to try to take them against him more!
Craig more than deserves a Gym named after him. I remember his first day at T-M in the summer when we were playing pick up games. He played with us some and you did not want him to post up under you. He nearly broke my jaw the first time I tried to cover him, lol.
Not only does Craig keep up with every kid that ever played for him through a facebook group, he keeps up with a lot of the kids he coached against over the years. Great man, great coach and great way to honor him.

I'll guarantee ya one thing. He'd make Obama poop in his pants. Have you seen how big Brittain is?
2nd thought (and I think it'd make an ex T-Mer like yourself proud) If the people running this country were to run it like the people running this school district. We'd be way better off

We'd be way better off Bobby Craig as president and dr Sue Nelson as his Vice President! Coach Boone could be in his joint chiefs of staff in charge of the military... No one would mess with us because the way he turned the warriors around he would have the military even stronger.... And don't forget mrs. Elizondo running congress with her old megaphone thing she always carried with her in the halls....

Hell, we did it every day almost so I guess I could give her the satisfaction of that one time, lol. One day my buddy's car ran out of gas...it was an old POS where none of the guages worked. Fortunately Mrs. Poe was driving down Leopard and gave us a ride back. I had a Trig/EA test that day and Mr. Hoover had warned us we better be there because he didn't want to have to prepare a make up test. I came in 10 minutes late and the old man hugged me...walked me to my seat...asked if I needed anything....thanked me for showing up, lol, in his very unique sarcastic way. I really like him and his wife as teachers and a people. I think I heard they had both passed on...they will be missed.

I saw Dr. Nelson and her husband and also my 8th grade football and basketball coach, Rodney Sumner at the game the other night, but they were always a ways away and busy. I have some funny stories about Sumner. Great to see they are still involved with the district.

Elizondo's assistant at the middle school my 8th grade year... Good man, it was lousy when TM let him go elsewhere and brought in others to be superintendent that were not very good and could care less about the community. I'm glad to hear mr. Sumner is back though. Good things will be happening through our that district with him and Dr. Nelson around...

Ms Elizondo was the ONLY Principle my wife hated teaching under...my wife's first two years were torcher under her. My wife liked Sumner though.
