Yall had a really good QB who gave us fits. Actually, the year at Alice was a young man named Scott Lehnhoff who is now the offensive coordinator at Steele. He had offers to play QB in college but ended up going to Baylor on a baseball scholarship. He had some pretty serious arm problems that hampered him and he ended up getting his degree and following in his dad's footsteps in lieu of trying to work his way up through the farm clubs. He is a great guy and know him well. The 2nd year it was his best friend at QB. His name was Scott Hall and he was one hell of an athlete. He was a very good QB but an even better Safety! He played QB for N TX St and had a good carreer winning a couple bowl games for them. He was a tough mother scooter and just flat out got after it. To this day though I still think Lehnhoff was the best QB ever to come out of SCUCISD. He NEVER made a mistake in his two years of starting at QB. Smartest QB I've ever watched play the game. You guys had some great teams in the 90s and we were extremely happy, and proud to have gotten those wins. I know I was pretty disappointed in the 01 playoffs when you guys knocked us out. My little brother was an all-state FB and that team. He think he got around 100 yards in that game and paid for every one of them. Cal's defense was salty that year and Danaher even said on one of the SA news casts that night that he knew that we would run the offense through the FB. Our TB was hurt as was the starting QB along with several key defensive players so it was a struggle from the start. I was impressed with Calallen that night and was completely shocked when you guys lost a couple weeks later to Westlake. I'd heard you guys had a big lead on them and then fumbleitis set in and the Cats lost the game.

2001 - lost to Westlake? You mean 1991 right? Well yeah.............sorry, I was having one of those brain flatulent thingies! Weren't you guys up on them like 21-0 and then had fumbles on like 4 straight possessions or something crazy like that. I know that my bro played ball in college with a kid from Westlake and I'd asked him about it one time and he said that his Chaps got lucky that day because if the Cats hadn't have given them the football so many times they would have lost that game...or something like that.

No...we were up 14-0 at half but lost 25-20. Not sure about fumbles...I think Westlake hit a couple big plays on us to take the lead.

Wasn't that the year our FB and linebacker broke a couple of ribs and had a difficult time the rest of the game??? The game at Kingsville?
