Don't worry about Dini. I don't believe he actually supports any team at all as all of his posts only involve taking shots at Calallen. Man after my own heart...... gee gpj our ture colors come out sooner or later,

Calallen eyes Poteet as next victim in Corpus Christi baseball dominance
Corpus Christi baseball teams: Crushing Dallas-area dreams since 2007 ByMatt Wixon / Reporter mwixon@dallasnews.com | Bio

Mesquite Poteet, which was No. 8 in the final regular-season state rankings, doesn't haven't to face top-ranked, defending champion Brenham in the semifinals Thursday. But the Pirates' semifinal matchup might not be any easier.
Poteet takes on No. 4 Corpus Christi Calallen, a perennial power that last year beat Frisco Wakeland in the state semifinals. Poteet knocked a pair of state-ranked teams out of the playoffs this season (Frisco Wakeland and Rockwall-Heath), but Calallen has had a lot of success against Dallas-area teams.
Corpus Christi Moody has also had a lot of success. Here's how the Corpus Christi teams have fared against locals at the state tournament since 2003:
2010 Corpus Christi Calallen 6, Frisco Wakeland 3
2009 Corpus Christi Moody 6, Fort Worth Arlington Heights 4
2008 Corpus Christi Calallen 11, Waxahachie 1 (5 innings)
2007 Corpus Christi Moody 9, Mesquite Poteet 1
2003 Denton Ryan 3, Corpus Christi Calallen 1

Hate is strong for some when the team they support can't equate the success of a rival, celebrating our team is painful for them and it becomes less a rivalry and more an obsession. Essentially, your left with resting on your laurels and pointing to the past for relevance. Thus the talk of the arrogance of the fans and bad wishes towards a group of hs kids. . LOL. On to things that matter, what are your thoughts on who pitches the first game, CB?

Personally, I'd like to see Wyatt in game 1 and Mando in game 2 provided of course that the Cats handle business. Our best lineup lately has been Wyatt at short and Mando on the hill.

I think Mando will pitch game 1. Why change what has been working for you? Also, you can always bring Scott or Wyatt in for a few innings if needed.

On to things that matter, what are your thoughts on who pitches the first game, CB? You guys have it all wrong. I dont hate calallen. I'm just not a fan. I dont "rest on GP's laurels". I've only lived here since 2003. I just support my son & his school. I also don't care much for Rockport, although I work here, or Ingleside. These feeling have come about due to a few fans from those teams who are disrespectful towards their opponents. If anybody wants specifics PM me. I'll fill you in. And while you calallan baseball fans probably have a right to be "arrogant" as your baseball team is quite good, you don't help yourselves by thumping your chests quite so much, as evidenced by the very fisrt post in this thread. Now, for the young men playing, and the coaching staff, congratulations on a fine season. You guys have obviously worked hard to reach the state tournament, and while I'm not now, nor will ever be a calallen "fan" I do wish you good luck in your quest for a state title. Even if it means I'll have to put up with a load of grief on this board!

Looks like Calallen will be the #1 seed and will play in the late game on Thursday GP John, How is this "arrogant?" CF4E was only speculating on what would become fact. Look you can call the Cal faithful arrogant or whatever else you wish, but I never see you publicy ridcule your own with their cheap shots and shear jealousy or envy.

I think Mando will pitch game 1. Why change what has been working for you? Also, you can always bring Scott or Wyatt in for a few innings if needed. The past years we've always seemed to have a distinction between our #1 and #2 pitchers. Chapman's always sent out the #1 in the semifinal game. This year it seems like there is no true #1, more like 1A and 1B. I would throw Wyatt in game 1 and let Mando keep hitters off balanced in the championship (God willing we get there). This one-two punch is a lot like the '05 team with Duke and Nance.
