The home plate ump was so blatantly making calls against Calallen that after the game he was fired by the UIL. Wow! Never even heard of that. Wow. I told y'all it was bad - nothing I've ever seen has come close. No less than he deserves.

Any word on the source? Or is it wishful thinking?

He might have been told to not work behind the plant, but unless I'm mistaken, he was working the third base line during the Carroll game on Friday right before our game.

Was the crew for our semi game from San Antonio? The crew that called the Carrol game was from San Antonio. I spoke to one of them after the Carrol game while waiting for our game to start.

I heard the Semi-Final Crew was from the Dallas Chapter, but I'm not 100%. However, I would not put it past the UIL to have a Dallas area crew call a semi-final game with a Dallas area school.

I think you are correct about our semi. From what I understand from this conversation I had with the tourney ump, the selections on who is going to call what are random and are done the morning of the games scheduled. In other words, the crews have no idea if and what time they might be used when they go to bed in the evening. Which begs the question if the UIL truly dropped the ball by putting that Dallas crew in the bowl for the draw for the Calallen/Mesquite game? I always thought the crews from the geographical areas for which the teams are represented were exempt from calling a game for where their might be a conflict of interest at the tourney? But then again the UIL doesn't always get geography right. Witness how they draw some of the districts every two years for one.
