Moody lost a lot of players, I'm not sure they will even finish in the top 4 this year. That's a bold prediction for sure. What gives at Moody? Granted talent is cyclical and we'll hit that issue someday in Calallen where our playoff run will be short, but just hearing chatter here and there suggests there is more going on at Moodyville than just a slim pickings of talent and playmakers. Well CCISD not allowing the kids to transfer in as in the past, some of the talent's parents are up set at Corky for not starting JR and being replace by underclass man. They will compete trust me anyone walking in thinking Moody not going to play ball must be a fool, but they have issues in the pitching, and the big thunder stick are long gone. Once agian MOODY IS MOODY you best bring your A game.

Calallen will not wear GOLD this season! They won't make it to Round Rock this year. The Moody Magic will knock them out this season...just wait & see! Corky will have it going on this season! OK, season '10 moody lost to lake travis 2-1 in the regional semifinals with three pitcher rotation and sticks in the line up season '11 moody lost (4) games to Calallen (3) were shout outs (2) at their house (1) moody pitcher left in their rotation/ I hope you circle your calendar date when the regional finals are and if you need help with that i can do that as well. now that you given us your 31-4A report how do you see 30-4A race who will win that district and where will g-p land? Is Flores still coaching baseball rumors has it that he on the hot seat, some of your own want a change in the program. any comments on that issue. JK about Moody winning state. My wife is a Moody grad and told me to put that in this thread. As far as our district is, I know both Victoria schools should be tough and should finish in the top 3 in district. We should be a solid 3rd at worst. We return 6 starters. Coming back are our Catcher(Fishbeck), 2B(Geiser), 3B(Flores), and all 3 outfielders(Martinez, Erwin, & Starcher). Looks like Geiser will move to SS, Flores to 2B, Starcher to 3B, Freddy Flores to 1B, and little Geiser to RF. our big problem will be in the pitching department. We have both Geisers, Martinez, & Rodriguez as the top returning pitchers, though none were in the starting rotation during district play last year. And yes, word is that Coach Flores is on the hot seat. There is a good crop of kids coming up in the 7th-9th grade. And, finishing with a below .500 record and 3rd or 4th in district won't cut it with the parents of these kids...

'81...GP should look at Davila from T-M as a replacement. He is a good coach, but loses a lot of his good players to Calallen and JPII. I'm sure he would love to come to a school that has some good talent in the pipeline.

Well let me start by saying these are only observation: FB- well JD has all the low down on the bluff, but i disagree on humpel's 90 mph he might be at 88 at best but his control is yet to be fixed(which they will fix that next yr if he throws) now is will be the one of the better catcher he has a good throw down to 1st where he has pick off many of runners. Well Carter has a special place in my heart he been playing with my son since LL, I wish him well. I will tag FB ahead of Moody and will make a deep run in the play-offs I see FB playing in the Regional Finals.(if they stay healthy and grades) CB25...finally got to see Humpal pitch yesterday and I think he was over 90 most of the time on his fastball. He went 4 innings against JPII not allowing any runs and no walks (1-1 starting count). We had a couple of sophs close out the game giving up 5 runs in the last 3 innings. The final was 9-5...bats looked good for early in the season and situational hitting was great as Coach Shane got execution from the kids on his hit and runs. Carter started against King and looked good as well. He pitched 4 innings and came out with a 4-3 lead. Another soph closed out the game not allowing any runs or hits and striking out 7 in the last 3 innings. Mendiola hit a bases clearing 3 run double to add the insurance runs. Final 7-3 FB. King threw Perez for the first 4 innings...he looked good. I could see the difference with the BBCOR bats as some of the shots I thought would go out didn't. There were still some solid shots though...just not any long balls and more fly outs. Baseball is upon us!

Love it. Now JD I am sure CB25 will say Humpal was clocking at 89.8 or so. LOL As far as "this soph" that pitched a three inning no hitter, well I can't wait to "meet" this guy. Well done unnamed soph.

Just heard FB won 13-2 this morning and plays at 3:30 at JPII vs. King or JPII. Two more sophs took the mound this morning. It looks like it will be the juniors, Mendiola and Mims, throwing in the semi-final today. The championship is at Cal tonight at 8 pm.

CB25....thanks for all your hard work and all the others who helped put the tournament on this weekend. Everyone had a great time and got to knock some of the rust off.
Sorry y'all ran out of pitching...the boys were looking forward to the game. They still got the work in though with Sinton...and Refugio's pitcher. Winters and Ross combined for a great pitching performance that game.
Thanks again buddy and it was good seeing you and your family. Good luck to #25 this year!

JD how did we do sunday, did that stud soph pitch, watch him saturday against king, for a kid that just picked the ball up.........daymn he was sling em. funny watching that game you could see the rust on those kids, on both sides. as JD spoke about the bccor bats they definitely need to size them up figger the sweet spot, looks like the small ball play will be pushed, also the base runners need to pay attention to the third base coach.

FB ended up winning all 6 games...they looked good for this early in the season. No HR's though and several balls that were crushed in the two most HR friendly fields in C.C....those bats are going to make a difference this year for sure. Quick and athletic outfielders will be a pitcher's best friend. FB had 8 kids pitching this weekend and all of them did great. It's nice to have that much depth. Another soph pitched the majority of the championship game and basically shut Sinton down (actually, Calallen forfeited the championship game because they ran out of pitching so we played Sinton for fun...they had lost the game prior to the ship to Calallen 1-0). CB25...how many HR's were hit this tournament compared to last year? I didn't see any in the 7-8 games I watched. Humpal crushed one against Sinton that made it to about the 378 mark in center at Cal....last year, that ball would have gone about 450 imo.

I was really happy with FB's depth on the mound and overall. Lot's of talent is a real nice situation to be in. Not shabby winning the tourney with no losses either. When is the last time you heard a team argue that they should not have to play FB in the Semi final but should get to play Calallen instead like King did yesterday? LOL Shame Cal forfeited the championship game. They only had one loss in the tourney. FB had beaten the King team Cal lost to. So, I was looking forward to the FB / Cal match up for all the marbles but wise of them to not overpitch young arms especially this early.
