Nice win...way to rebound from the Moody wreck of a game! Yep. I will just say Carrol didn't impress me much. Sure they are a good ball club, but for the second time I've seen them within a year timespan, they played with little emotion. The first was last years semi final.

STFF...I don't know about you, but I could tell they were going to lose watching them warm up last year before the semi...that Lubbock team just exuded confidence as they walked on the field and we all know what happened after the game started. I think losing a natural leader like Blackmar hurt that club more than people thought.

Final.... Calallen7 Carrol Tigers 1 Arrevalo throws a 1 hitter, only hit for the Tigers came in the 7th inning Mando kind of reminds me of Chip Nance on the mound- Not really overpowering, but the ball is hard to pickup when he releases the ball from his hand.

2012 POWERADE FAB 50 Baseball Rankings: Week 8
1 (1)
Olympia Orlando, FL
25-0
The Titans became the first Central Florida team to finish unbeaten during the regular season after their 4-3 win over Winter Park (Fla.). Jesse Winker went 2-for-3 with a two-run homer and three RBIs and scored the deciding run in the fifth inning to snap a 3-3 tie.
2 (2)
Jesuit Tampa, FL
23-1
Lance McCullers Jr. struck out 11, allowed three hits and no earned runs in an 11-1, five-inning win over Clearwater Central Catholic (Fla.). The Tigers exploded for 10 runs in the first inning, including a two-run double by McCullers. The senior ace hasn't allowed an earned run all season.
3 (3)
Nova Davie, FL
19-1
The Titans closed their regular season with a 5-2 triumph over Western (Davie, Fla.). Their only loss is by just one run, and they've won eight in a row since then.
4 (4)
Mater Dei Santa Ana, CA
17-4
There will be two games this week between the Monarchs and No. 11 Lutheran (Orange, Calif.) that likely will decide a league title. Mater Dei topped St. John Bosco (Bellflower, Calif.) 17-3 and 7-4 in its games last week.
5 (5)
Harvard Westlake North Hollywood, CA
16-3-1
After beating Chaminade (West Hills, Calif.) in a pair of league games, Brandon Deere pitched a complete game in a 6-1 triumph over Westlake (Westlake Village, Calif.).
6 (6)
Columbus Columbus, GA
22-1
The Blue Devils won three times last week to remain unbeaten versus in-state teams. However, that streak ended on Monday night in a loss to Mill Creek (Hoschton, Ga.), but that result won't be counted in the rankings until next week. Columbus faces No. 35 Parkview (Lilburn, Ga.) in the regular-season ending finale on Saturday.
7 (15)
Calallen Corpus Christi, TX
28-1
Senior lefty Mando Arevalo pitched a gem of a game in a 7-1 win over previous No. 10 Carroll that improved his record to 7-0. It is a win that will be huge for Calallen if both teams win state titles since the two will be in different divisions -- Carroll in 5A, Calallen in 4A -- and a head-to-head win would be the difference for a higher final ranking.
8 (8)
Gainesville Gainesville, GA
22-0
The unbeaten Red Elephants coasted to two easy wins last week over Oconee County (Watkinsville, Ga.) 16-9 and Lumpkin County (Dahlonega, Ga.) 10-0 in five innings.
9 (9)
Bishop Gorman Las Vegas, NV
22-2
It looks like the Gaels might be in cruise control until the state playoffs. They ended last week by beating Durango (Las Vegas) 13-3 in five innings as Cody Roper homered and Joey Gallo drove in four runs.
10 (11)
Saint Francis Mountain View, CA
20-1-1
Kort Peterson hammered a pair of homers and had seven RBIs when the Lancers beat Archbishop Riordan (San Francisco) 11-0.
