If he has a waiver signed by the TM AD, then there is probably no issue. And for some reason, I'm thinking that transfers within a district have to be approved by the district's executive committee, but I could be wrong...not sure how all of this works with open enrollment schools. He didn't have a waiver signed because his Dad moved into the District. Evidently, the T-M faithful were upset with this mass exodus that took place and have been doing some investigative work on where this kid is actually living. Like I said, I don't know any more than what was told to me by a good friend who has a son playing fo Robstown this year and was at the game last night. He was recalling a kid who went from T-M to Calallen to Robstown one year when Robstown got investigated and didn't get to participate in post-season play. Scheible had to sit out a year because he didn't get a waiver signed. He didn't move into the District, just changed schools. It sounds like a witchhunt, but who knows. T-M is pretty butt sore about losing all the players this year. The kid that cost Robstown the playoffs that year never played at Calallen. His dad approached Chapman about him playing there and Chapman told the dad that he would love to have him but he needed to live in the district (at the time) and make it all legal. The dad didn't want to follow the rules and said he would just take his kid to Robstown in that case. Chapman said adios and we all know how that ended.

A waiver would still need to be signed by the coach/AD to certify that the transfer is not for athletic purposes...lots and lots of loopholes around this, though. My guess is that all (or at least the correct) information wasn't provided to you. Why would one transfer get a waiver and the other one not? Especially when the one transfer was the co-newcomer of the year as a freshman the previous season for T-M varsity? Anytime information is second hand, you have no idea whether or not it is accurate. With the information age on us, I'm sure things are in the works to find out directly from the horse's mouth what the situation is. I know T-M will do whatever they can to punish these kids and the schools they left for.

Why would one transfer get a waiver and the other one not? Politics perhaps

Why would one transfer get a waiver and the other one not? Politics perhaps Perhaps, but I don't think Davila would sign anything if he had a choice. We have been wondering this since early in the season.

Humpal is going to Texas State That's right... I forgot about him signing with Texas State. The Bobcats got a good one coming up. I was very impressed with how he worked the corners last night. First time I've seen him pitch. Humpal has a good future ahead of him. He has that sinker that is wicked with the off speed pitch. I enjoyed watching both pitchers. Batters from both teams were having problems at the plate.

I enjoyed watching Wyatt and Lucas...except for my son striking out twice...it was an enjoyable partial game.

How much more velocity does Humpal have this year (89mph) than last do you figure? Great to see a kid develop!
