Sounds great 278ibewfb!
Guys, I promise you it won't be a slaughter in either. Jinks will call the dogs off very early when he gets a lead and a ton of backups will play. I saw him pull his 4-star QB last year as early as the 1st quarter with a 13-0 lead against a fairly decent Round Rock team. If I know Jinks, he will suit up a ton of sophomores and maybe even some freshman for this game if he feels he has them severely outmanned. He just will not run it up on anybody. If he doesn't want to travel a ton of kids, and the 2nd teamers are still scoring, he will go 'vanilla' big time in a heartbeat.

Sorry CCISD teams suck.

Sorry CCISD teams suck. I agree gpk that it could be a factor for sure. But, it also is a very good thing in that you get backups lots of real, game time experience and that is very important! It helps that Steele has so many kids in the program and that 'ready for the playoffs' can be acheived in practice as well when you have 'quality' backups that can push your starters hard in practice. Trust me, I'd much rather still be competing in our old district, especially now that it has SV and NBC in it and Seguin out. But, I think Jinks can get the boys ready even with a weaker district schedule. I guess we'll see in about 7 months if it hurts us or not. Believe me when I say I'd much rather us be playing FB, GP, PLC, or Cal then the two CC schools we have in our district. Everybody knows that 4a ball in the CC area is way, waaaay stronger then the 5a teams!

Thanks FB fan for the links. Here's a link from the 5a board of a post from a guy close to the program who's son played at Steele. He has some interesting things to say about what he saw at spring practice yesterday. IT is post # 387 on the page linked below. Good read. forums.5atexasfootball.com/showthread.php?t=66386&page=20Sounds pretty good considering some of the studs are not practicing due to preparing for the state track meet coming up.

Spring game was pretty damn impressive. Without a doubt this will be the fastest team we've fielded yet, and probably the biggest.
Probably the most impressive thing out there was the fact that we've got some unbelievable fresh and sophs! Remember the names Gregory Williams and Jaylen Harris. These are the two freshman that got a lot of PT in the playoffs carrying the football. Harris is a RB and they moved Williams to QB. Both had two long, impressive TD runs last night. Steele also has a ton of younguns that are simply put.......MONSTERS! 6'0" 220 to 6'5" 260-280..........& they are babies. I'm talking about fresh and sophs. If this group puts in the work the next three years, they will contend for another title if they can stay healthy.

Good thing y'all have some strong ND opponents.
