Anybody getting any offers to play at the next level yet? Any updates? When is National Signing Day? I heard the T'Andre Campbell from FB is going to play for a school in California...one that saw him at camp last summer in Arizona. I wish him the best of luck.

We are going to Trinity University in San Antonio on the 21st to check them out. They have shown some interest, but would have to coMe up with a pretty good financial aid package. Great school, but on the $$$$ side.
My favorite Wildcat!
He does not have blazing speed, but is fast enough. Great blocker, and gets lots of yards after contact.

Good luck to him and you guys as well gpj! Trinity is one hell of a school indeed! He will get a top notch edumication there for sure. My wife's cousin graduated from Trinity back in 1990 and is making more money then she can count!

Trinity was great. We will see how the financial aid works out. Estimated cost is 42K/year. Ouch! but if they can come up with some aid $$$$ to get it close to what A&M Kingsville cost would be, it would be a great place for Matt to #1 get a very good education, and #2 play a little college football. Even if it is DIII, its still "big boy football" Thier faciities are very nice.

Seriously, the cost of a college education is scary and getting worse every year. I'm about to have two in school at the same time and it is gonna be tough. I told the vieja she better get a job soon! My son has expressed an interest in A&M Kingsville and living at the ranch so that would be great on the old wallet as far as lodging goes. Hell you never know, maybe both will get some sort of scholly to help out...can you get a scholly for hunting???

...but...in the long run...it doesn't matter where you get your degree, just as long as you can get one. The old saying about "who you know" is very true. I never really believed that when I was going to UT, but I found out later that it is so true.

I never really believed that when I was going to UT, but I found out later that it is so true. Networking and knowing the right people is the golden key. Texas Exes and other Alumni groups help. Then back it up with solid work ethic and those in the know will get to know you. I paid that $100k bill for one son at UT for 4 years. My youngest is under the Hazelwood Act now and is virtually free. I only have to pay $200 a Semester for fees not covered, plus books. My oldest son squandered his scholly and opportunity at A&M Kingsville, but he is now back in a Junior College and playing Basketball. Baylor coach is interested in him if he keeps his GPA above the 3.0 it is now.

Trinity is about 42K/year. Less any scholarships or other aid, maybe totaling about 20K per year, but we dont have an exact figure yet. One of the good things is most Trinity students graduate in 4 years. Not the 5-7 norm at state schools. I guess if a kid graduates in 4 years, with a good degree, gets a decent job, he could pay back a good chunk of the loans while his HS buddies are still working their way thru school.
Trinity has no teaching assistants. all classes are taught by professors. Average class size 21. They encourage a semester of study abroad, and can usually find a place for a kid to go. the cost is included in the tuition, kind of a swap out for a student from europe or wherever to come to Trinity for a semester.
I mentioned to my wife that I studied lots of broads when I was at LSU, she did not think it was quite the same thing.....
