I have to give those T-M kids credit...they played hard and turned the game around from being down 14-0 to going ahead 20-14! They put up a real good goalline stance as well. They capitalized on #10's 3rd INT of the year right before half, but he got vindication with his 12th TD pass of the year for the win. Congrats to the whole JV team and coaches for a great undefeated district championship run!
I must say I was disappointed with T-M's Athletic Director and his effort to create a quality experience for the boys. He had no referees for the game and no announcer. You would expect that a school with great facilities like T-M would put forth a little more effort. I've actually heard nothing good about Sandejar and last night helped validate what I've heard. Bobby Craig would never not have referees for a JV basketball game and would treat the teams and players just like a varsity game. T-M majorly screwed up by not making him the AD.
Through out all your post's, comments, etc. I have never had any problem with anything you have said. And more than likely you are a fine gentleman in spite of the fact of how enamoured you are with Bobby Craig (who is a good basketball coach).
You don't know why officials were not there.
More than likely you've never heard anything good about SEndejar, because of your relationship with Coach Craig.
I have been to T-M basketball games where coaches officiated. I have also been to games of all sports across South Texas including football games at Calallen where coaches were officiating. It is not a big deal
And last nights game - one inadvertant whistle (where FB eventually made the yardage back any way), and one procedure call vs T-M. Probably the best officiated game I've seen in my life.
They let the kids decide the outcome of the game.
T-M, I am sure has made mistakes, but Sendejar is not one of them.
I must say, I am disappointed with you Johnny Duval.
As a T-M graduate and former football player there, I think the coach T-M has now needs to go. What has his record been? There are athletes leaving the school for other schools. The best athlete in school plays basketball and baseball, but not football and he would be an excellent football player. Bobby Craig is not only my former coach in basketball, but one of my very best friends. There is a reason some 26 years after I have graduated that I still support T-M basketball as a fan and a donor. Craig has a very loyal following of former student/athletes and deservedly so. I guess as a T-M alumni, i can't express my dissatisfaction for another football coach that has done nothing for that program?
I have no problem with the game or the kids playing last night or the outcome. The kids deserve to have a game-like experience with refs and announcers...they just got less than bargained for last night and it was a dissapointing experience for a T-M alumni. The T-M football players played hard and deserve all the credit. The only blown call by the officials that had any bearing on the game was giving T-M 4 timeouts in the first half...the last of which helped them stop the clock with seconds left allowing them to score on the following play.
Sorry to disappoint you, but I was very disappointed last night with what the T-M athletic department provided.
"And more than likely you are a fine gentleman in spite of the fact of how enamoured you are with Bobby Craig..." - lol...what a quote!
