Bulldogs travel to Waco this week to take Pirates. Bulldogs hope to make for 45-14 loss to them last year. The Bulldogs stand a very good chance of beating Pirates who are two classification bigger. I think the Bulldogs can pull it off.

I had a hard time deciding on who to pick on this game. Decided to go with the home town advantage that La Vega will have.

My nephew should be back on the field this week for Yoakum after having a torn meniscus against Industrial in the first non district game. Yoakum is damned good this season and Bo Robinson is getting them ready for a good run in the playoffs

I became a huge La Vega fan the year they played Calhoun and Calallen. I think it was during the pandemic in 2020. Dang they got some good ball players in that city!
This should be one heck of a ball game, speed and athleticism on both teams! I'll be pulling for YT but it's going to be tough!

That’s why Bo schedules them every year, so the level of play prepares them better for the playoffs.

Hopefully Yoakum gets back on track a bit better then because they aint done much the last 4 seasons going 24-21 combined. Is coach Robinson a personal friend of yours that you refer to him by his first name?

Yoakum has a lot of lineman with some size this year. That’s something haven’t had the last 3 or 4 years.
Last years Qb Gordon is now the backup and starts at Db. LaVega put a lot of pressure on. I think LaVega will have a harder time controlling Qb Taylor with his ability to scramble and run.

Old Green is correct, for the last 2-3 years Yoakum has lacked the big linemen that they used to have every year. This years team has good size linemen and you can definitely see the difference in the offence

Yup I suspect if they haven't had the linemen needed it would certainly affect wins and losses.
They are in a damn tough district I know that. I believe of the 5 teams in that district 4 are in the top 15 in the state...or close to that

Hitchcock, Columbus, Halletsville and Yoakum are all solid teams this season

The Columbus team has 3 Schobel brothers who are Asst coaches for Columbus. All three are ex NFL players who just happen to be very good coaches. Even though these teams are 3A there is quite a bit of talent in that area. Of course talent alone doesn’t guarantee good teams, good coaches combined with talented players create good teams. All of the teams have good programs that provide young athletes the ability to improve yearly.
