Very probable to see Aledo end up in a district such as this. Either way, they’ll be fine no matter the district. Where the adjustment will come in will be the 6A playoffs when they’ll face a higher quality and more consistent level of competition. With the talent level Aledo has they will compete well in 6A. The 6A schools may be a little more concerned with Aledo than Aledo is them. North Crowley has been better of late for sure but Aledo would give them a dose of reality. It will be the DeSoto’s (if they stay 6A), Duncanville’s, Southlake Carroll’s, Denton Guyer’s and perhaps a few others that will test Aledo. That being said there are some good schools out in west Texas but nobody Aledo will not be able to compete well with. Aledo has played schools like SLC and Allen at the lower levels before and beat them. What I’m saying is the 6A program already built.
It may be very possible to see Centennial go 6A as well. Last I checked both them and Aledo were very close in attendance numbers. Now that will be a test for the Spartans program no doubt.

Reached our bye week and then have Brewer before the tournament starts. Hopefully we get healthy and focused on improving little by little.

Aledo finally got to enjoy their bye week. I know some kids got banged up from the Denton Ryan game. Overall I think we are somewhat healthy but we are missing some playmakers on both offense and defense that we will need come playoff time. No idea on their time tables but fingers crossed. Getting ready for the 3rd part of the season but before then we play (3-6) Brewer at their place.

We have a first round rematch with Killeen Shoemaker next Thursday at 7pm. Remember during last year's playoff opener, our backup QB had to start and played really well for the playoff win. (Kudos to Brant). Hoping all players can stay healthy this last district game.

Not to discount Brewer but I already started getting familiar with Killeen.

I really don't know anything about them except Shoemaker and The Colony both lost very low and close scoring games to Red Oak this season with Aledo beating TC 60-14. I'm not impressed with Shoemaker district record but do believe they have a dangerous WR but thats all I know.

They would be in the mix with Centennial, Northwest, and The Colony to make the playoffs in our district. I think they are one of the better 4th place teams in the playoffs.

We have a first round rematch with Killeen Shoemaker next Thursday at 7pm. Shoemaker is a solid 5a D1 team but no match for Aledo. I think it will be a little closer than last year though and a 3-4 TD win Aledo 42 Shoemaker 14

Obviously at the start of the year expectations were high. We returned a good number of kids that were apart of a championship season. I even compared their potential to the 2013 team (the top Aledo team in my opinion). This season has been strange. A couple of games Aledo would get a lead then the other team would get back into it and make it a game. Parish Episcopal and Lubbock Cooper come to mind. The Denton Guyer game from the start was tough. Then you have games like Denton Ryan and Killeen Shoemaker that you have turnover issues. Seems like if its not one thing its another. We've had injuries to key players throughout the year and have keep going. At the end of the day we are still in the playoffs and undefeated. But it feels like we are waiting for the other shoe to drop. At some point in time either injuries or turnovers will get us against a good team. But I do know one thing, this team continues to fight and compete. They dont give up. Lets see how the rest shakes out.

Where is Aledo going to be placed if they do in fact move up to 6A? Obviously with Weatherford, but beyond that, what other schools do y’all see them being paired with to form a UIL district? A reasonable district possibility if Aledo pops up to 6A: Aledo Boswell (Saginaw) Denton Guyer Denton Braswell Chisholm Trail (Saginaw) FW Paschal North Crowley Weatherford This won’t be the district. Chisholm Trail is dropping. Paschal is dropping. North Crowley cannot be in a district separate from non-directional Crowley (same ISD). I doubt they would have Denton ISD schools with Crowley and Aledo and Weatherford. Too many better options much closer by.
