CC_Varmints go pick a debate with clem, he is looking for a debate to prove he is smarter than anyone else. "SPORTS DO NOT BUILD CHARACTER; THEY REVEAL IT". COACH;JOHN WOODEN I think I can say the same for this Blog. There are plenty of Characters on this Board.

Why would I forget. I was involved in the discussion when it took place. I got a thank you note from Coach Randy Allen this morning. Interesting the logo on the front is 100 years of Highland Park Football. I had discussed a number of coaches he had been connected with such as Coach Darren Almond. I watched a lot of players from Highland Park when I was growing up in Wichita Falls. Bobby Layne, Jayne Mansfield, Matthew Stafford, Doak Walker. One of those did not play football but graduated from Highland park. I thought Matt Stafford was a Southlake kid... that's cool that he is HP....

Yes, we all know you are the one who needs to be pointing out everyone's character flaws. No doubt about that at all. Got any coaches this week on your radar that need to be drug across the carpet for causing injuries to their players? Oh, and Rick Rhodes is in round 3 again this year! He must have remembered how to coach or read some Gordon Wood books 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Blew out Marshall.

GP37/wfcoyote, you said you were born in '38 correct? That's a lot of change to see in this world, and in football as well... so 2 questions for you... One is serious, the other is for fun... 1. What's the best thing you've seen change in football over the years? 2. Were they working on IH-35 expansion back then too? (Trying to figure out if it's ever going to end lol)

They just broke ground on a 10 year project from Loop 410 out to Cibolo (FM 1103) which will add upper lanes both directions. 10 years and 417 million dollars from what I read & heard. And, don't get stuck on IH10 on the east side of SA from 1604 out to past the Bexar County line about 4-5 miles. It is an outright mess with the construction now! I don't understand how and why it takes them so long to do these projects. We can build a $150m high school along with all the sports facilities on 75-100 acre tracts in 24 months..........why the hell can't they build roads faster than they do?!!!

They did the fly over from 35 to 190 in Belton, they had to stop because they were building from both sides and ended up 13 feet off!!! So their solution was to put this awkward curve in the middle to connect them.... I don't understand why they take forever either.... if anyone else did their job that slow (except a politician) they'd be fired... ki swear in Temple, Belton, and Waco they just keep redoing what the already did and ate not actually progressing! I used to like taking 130 out of Georgetown down to SA all the time... the last time I did that, I decided going back to 35 in Buda is less of a headache cause of the construction on 10... D/FW is a cluster too... I hate going to play teams there and driving the bus...

Warcat I was born 18 July 1937 at my aunts house out on Buffaloe Gap Hwy and it was a dirt road at that time. My mom and dad had gone to a ball game and started home and I started making a fuss and she stopped off at my aunts house and they called the doctor and I could not wait and my 2 aunts delivered me. They were both nurses. When the doctor got there he signed my birth certicificate. I spent the first 4 years of my life in Abilene and these Asians drooped some bombs on Pearl Harbor and we moved to Wichita Falls where my dad go t a job driving a bus and moving troops between the train station and Shepard field. My dad failed his physical because he got his back broke in a home made boxing ring. They would set it up behind a gas station and charge 30 cents to watch him fight. I was raised up in WF.
The best thing I have seen over the years is the 2 platoon system. The Coyotes back then were one platoon and all players played both ways. My wife’s Aviater SUV is hitting bumps and making it hard to type. We are on our way to Deer Park.o
went both ways. They had not started on IH 35 yet.

And there are plans to do upper lanes almost the entire length of I-35 in Austin. In fact they are going to totally redo the whole set up from what I read. I fully expect to be a great grandparent by the time that gets finished and I'm not even a grandparent just yet. The way we do road construction in this country is clusterbleep from start. From the watercolor artwork, studies, engineering, to the actual shovels hitting the ground, it just sucks. Then I see videos of countries in Europe and Asia where they can litteraly build a bridge over a sizeable river in 72 hours and I just shake my head. On some of these road projects, it takes them that just do a mile or two of blacktop.

They are having worthless meetings with neighbors on the bypass at Odem when they know they are going to build it the way they want to anyway. Nathan at RRstation Restaurant is worried how it will effect him.

They are having worthless meetings with neighbors on the bypass at Odem when they know they are going to build it the way they want to anyway. Nathan at RRstation Restaurant is worried how it will effect him. That bypass is WAAYYYYYY overdue primarily due to the trains that go through there. I've waited 20 mins, maybe even more to make it through that town thanks to a train switching tracks. Not to mention it's a double whammy for folks that live north of the track out towards Sinton if they have an emergency and that train gets in the way. Going through the Portland construction and the never ending Harbor Bridge project is another challenge and as we saw with that one way driver a couple of weeks ago, it shut down the existing bridge for several hours .
