So the NCAA is football biased to the SEC, but its basketball biased to the B10. interesting... I’m not as sold on the NCAA being as biased to the SEC… probably because they are usually the top in Football, and can back it up! It’s Basketball where they have a their love affair with the Big 10 as a conference! IMO, The Big’s in the middle can and will get you to the “Dance”, but it’s the Guard play that will win you that title!

I think some of these same media executives and their commentators in the studios and publications are trying to find the next super conference for basketball to rival the old Big East from the 80's and 90's and because the Big 10 has some basketball legacy schools and their schools are located in what is considered basketball country, the Big 10 is their vehicle to try to establish that basketball power conference. The Big East back then was a fun conference to watch.

In basketball the ACC is top dog of basketball. Most titles, final four appearances by conference.

The NCAA by in large is troubled organization, but they've done the basketball tourney correct for the most part. The game has a lot of parity in the college ranks and it's obvious with the close scores and the bracket busters with the much lower seeds knocking off a number of the higher seeds. But the NCAA & Media’s obvious love affair with the Big 10 conference in Basketball is misguided. They selected 9 teams and only 2 made it (22%) to the Sweet 16. The Big 12 had 6 selected and 3 made it (50%) and then there is the ACC which only had 5 selected and 3 teams (60%) made it! As usual, the Big 10 is overhyped while they once again underperform!
Of course and rightfully so, the media is all over Duke and Coach K’s final Season/NCAA Tournament!SEC had 6 selected and one made it to the Sweet 16 (Arkansas). IMO, the the Hot teams are St. Peters, UCLA, Providence, Houston and Miami.

The Pac10/12 was the same way up until 2000, It was UCLA on top for decades, The Big 10 has had a few hit and miss seasons on top with Indiana in the 70s-80 and you had Michigan State in the 2000's. The ACC has been the most consistent top to bottom basketball conference hands down. Especially since 2000 with nine titles and too many final four teams to count.

I am venturing to say that the bias of the NCAA Tournament Selection Committee is showing up front and center this year. Don't give me that parity crap either. St. Peter's and Houston were obviously underseeded. The non-Power 5 conferences get no respect. North Carolina was also underseeded. The Big Ten is gone!!! Kansas (Big12) as the lone #1 seed to the Region Finals (Elite 8).

The clock struck midnight for the Cinderella known as St Peter’s…. The blue bloods have assumed their spots in the final four. St Peters will get a nice paycheck none the less.

Great NIT final last night. Aggies came up a few points short in the final seconds vs Xavier 73-72.
