The coaches that wear their hats backwards? Lol. lol am I wrong in my criticism of that? I'm not talking about practice or your personal time but on GAMEDAY to be on the sidelines with a backwards cap just looks unprofessional in my opinion. But hey, at least some of the kids will think those coaches are cool. No, not at all. Caps were meant to be worn with the bill in front and with a bend too. IMO......

Every one of them would get on that AZZ soon as a mistake was made. And None of them wore their Cap Backwards.

I had coaches I liked better than others but none that made me think they weren't helping us get better with what they had us doing.

The only thing I'd say is chino is 'old school' big time and just doesn't like to admit it like we do! lol

Then Yes you were. Had a couple that taught us nothing. Just yelled at the top of their lungs that we couldn't get it right. Kinda difficult when we were not told what right was.

Looks like MLB is about to lose another week of games. Some of the items they are both sides are using as bargaining chips are so trivial and should have been implemented long ago. Like adding the DH in both leagues, adding a pitching clock to speed up the game, don't let batters step out after each pitch, and adding patches to uniforms for marketing profits. Most of this is could have been solved in an email and 20-minute zoom call long ago. sports.yahoo.com/mlb-could-cancel-another-week-211820401.html

The best thing MLB could do IMO is automated balls and strikes. I HATE umpires that "have their OWN strike zone." Arrogant putz. Sometime back when asked about it live the commissioner said he didn't want umps to "lose control of the game." Freudian slip? I don't want umps to control the game. I want what happened to control the game. There's no excuse. Instant replay didn't ruin football.

I bet they stop being such a bunch of greedy pendejos then!

There is way, way too many times when it is even apparent when watching replays they got the spot of the damn ball wrong and yet they still do not adjust it even when challenged most of the time!

I want what happened to control the game. There's no excuse. Instant replay didn't ruin football. I am one of the few against going full on using robotic/video to call balls and strikes. You still need the human aspect of umpires to call the game and have players adjust accordingly. You have can still have the robot calling the strikes but the human umpire can override if the call is suspect or have a fast booth video review. The next step from robot umps is robot players and nobody wants that. What really needs to happen is MLB needs to hold its umpires accountable and review their game performance and get feedback from coaches and players. Currently, MLB umps have no recourse if they are bad umpires, they get to stay in the show regardless of how bad they are. If you are not getting it done in the pros you get sent down to Tripple A or Double A just like the players. No fan should know the umpires by name and in the MLB this is far too common with guys like Joe West, Ángel Hernández and C. B. Bucknor. They go out of the way to show up players, make poor calls and make it about them all without any consequences from the MLB.

This drives me nuts. I can't see why the replay official in the booth can't radio down to the white hat in real time that their spot is wrong. This without taking a 90 or 120 second TV timeout which IMO is not doing the games justice and the BIG 12 Refs are the worse at reviews taking so damn long. Something like "hey that ball should be placed on the 30 yard line" right after they place it in error a yard or so behind the line of gain. With baseball, you'd think the MLB and the Umps would be a tad more aware that fans and the media can really see through their non sense? I really do like the pitch locators that are now used by the broadcasters to show exactly where an Umps strike zone is and how many misses they make in an average game. The common theme in both the college and pro ranks is the lack of accountability by the leagues for their Ref crews. In the Pro ranks they are making good money for a few months of on the court/field work and whatever training they do during the off season. An NFL Ref makes 200K a year.... When a coach or player violates a league or team policy, they have to fork over cash for punishment. NFL Refs? Nothing for incompetence other than the league office maybe acknowledging a screw up here and there and a fine for the player or coach that dares callout their incompetence. This is why there is general lack of confidence in officiating from the Pros down to the High Schools/Youth league. And having said that about the high school and youth leagues it's obviously unfair to compare them to the officials in the Pro/College ranks as they are volunteers, doing officiating as a second job, or a hobby.. But we just see the same thing with the lack of accountability and the reputation of officials being above reproach is allowed to grow. When a Ref screws up, acknowledge it publicly if you have too and move on. It would give some of them more creditabilty at the end of the day instead of this hide behind a league rule the officials can't be publicly criticized so why address the mistakes?

Looks like the MLB and MLBPA got a deal done to have a season. Just a bit too late to keep me watching for this season.
But at least you finally got the universal DH, only a decade late to the party.
