Maybe so, but the game were happening at the same time on Gamechanger, like they were split squads. yea the McAllen Tourney was played at multiple locations down there Game changer was all over the place in part thanks to cancellations and games that were cut short due to the weather. I keep hoping one day the UIL would figure it out and push the start of baseball and softball season back to first week of March even if extends the season further into June because we do have ugly weather from time to time in February. This would help tourney organizers and the schools themselves at least have a better shot to get their games in. I'm in Chicago for couple of weeks and was hoping to see some HS games while Im here but they don't start til mid march and it has snowed and been 20-30 degrees past few days.

Just saw this tweet and posted yesterday, dang this kid just put Alice as contender come playoff time! from his profile he was at 96 with FB and good speed difference on the other two pitches! Is this legit? I'm guessing 100mph pitch in high school is about as rare as legit 4.2 speed is??

They had him sitting 94-96 on one outing but yes unfortunately he injured his arm in Sinton scrimmage. Hopefully won’t be out too long!

I'll probably go tomorrow night.... I think the media will make a bigger deal of this vs the fans on both sides....Rather the bigger deal be made in May is probably the thinking. There will be a crowd of MLB/College scouts with their radar guns.... Taking up some of the better seats too as always....SMH

He's the really good athlete that sat out his senior season of football this year because he didn't want to get injured and ruin his baseball career. Ends up having a season ending injury in his first baseball scrimmage. Tommy John surgery. My theory on stuff like this in general is the more you force yourself to throw hard at a young age when you haven't yet grown into a body capable of handling it then you are at greater risk of unfortunate accidents like this happening. I'm not a baseball person so maybe a baseball person can jump in and tell me I'm an idiot and wrong but that's what I think. It doesn't seem natural for an average sized teenager to be throwing 100 mph yet unless you are a freak of nature with a grown man body like that QB from FB. Hopefully TAMUCC still honors his scholarship and he's able to make a comeback.

Jaquae Stewart gave up and unearned run, last season 0.00 ERA and only 1 unearned run scored last season on him. Good start to 2022

Hopefully he recovers to play college ball.

Many of these select leagues are willing to tell kids parents anything in order to milk a willing cow. And some parents and not necessarily due to their own circumstances see $$$ as a result. Sadly many of the same parents end up spending huge $$$$ and their kid never makes it to the next level like they envisioned. And if they do, many of them get scholarships that might be a third of what they spent on year around baseball for 10 years that could have paid for college and maybe Grad school too. Oh and those same parents might during that time span end up spending $$$$ on surgery and rehab like this young man. But who still ends up in black???.the select leagues and their coaches.

But who still ends up in black???.the select leagues and their coaches. being around baseball my whole life. i did the same quitting football to concentrate on baseball.. ended up tearing my labrum in my throwing shoulder pitching in fall ball in college . basically ending thiings for me. i played select ball in the summer before my senior year but not after took some time off from throwing before i went on to college. but what i have learned is now days kids play their sport year around no legit offseason. if pros get an offseason no matter the sport then teenagers should also pushing to play a sport year round and then throw in camps , showcase camps showing your skills.. the stress on ur arm, knees, shoulders take a toll. some kids r blessed with power arms andsome have to work to get it there. think us as parents now days need to keep our kids on a leash of when it comes to playing year round with no offseason that concentrates on nutrition, sleep, weights, speed, and endurance. thats y u see pitch counts from little league to high school now. we forget that a pitcher might throw 100 pitches in a game but doesnt include warm ups and warm up pitches between innings.. if i was flirting with 100mph throwing id being throwing every day trying hit it. who wouldnt. im not saying that my explanation is what happened because i dont know the kid. but we r seeing more and more of this happening to high school kids. i pray for a speedy and easy recovery and hope it’s baseball career goes the way he planned which i think it will.

What a shame Feel bad for the kid for sure and hope and pray for a full and speedy recovery so he gets his chance in college.
